    I had to come down the same road in my 2wd long bed chevy with no weight without a problem and she has an awd subaru. I think it's another simple case of somebody running late for work and driving like a dipshit.

    Does anybody have experience doing paracord knife wrap? It's been my little pet project at work the last few weeks and I've accomplished nothing.

    This is the kit I ordered:

    http://www.knifemaking.com/product-p/ss646.htm

    but the handle pieces don't come precut, just a 2x2 block of wood. I decided to do a paracord but as you can see there is a finger groove in the tang and I can't keep the paracord wrapped evenly around it.

    This is what I'm aiming for:

    Thanks for the link. The animatedknots site is pretty neat. I wish I had that back in my scouting days.

    This is where I'm at now.

    It's just a simple weave. I think for the two exposed end I will do a gaucho knot or turks head, then a monkey's fist for a lanyard.

    When HB and I use to plow snow/and salt/sand for a living we loved our chains.. On our 1 ton dully dump truck (GMC)

    HB drove .. I would shovel the sand/salt into the hopper..
    Or would just spread it from inside the bed of the dump body..

    Our gas spreader didn't always work..:huh

    A pineapple knot is nice too...
    I use them when I made riding bats...
    I would also use a 18 strand plait..

    I use 2 books called
    {Leather Braiding Bruce Grant 1950}
    {How to make Cowboy Horse Gear, Bruce Grant, 1953}

    back to the snow driving topic. What would you guys recommend for a snow tire. Currently my truck has P235/715R 16 on them and they are summer tread. It's a 2wd truck, should I bother replacing the front two?

    I've heard good things about the firestone winterforce tires and the price is pretty good.
