It didn't sell. At $7,100 the reserve was not met.

Looks like there is nearly $7,000 in suspension, tires, and wheels, Scott.

Yeah, but that's always the problem with mods or custom builds - you're only going to get what someone is willing to pay. If you are selling a bike that's only worth $3000 (for the sake of argument in this case), but you've got $10,000 in stuff done to it, don't expect to get $13,000 for it (not impossible, but highly improbable). Too many times I see these customized bikes and they are usually so far out there or set up so specifically for the original owner, that it's not really a desirable bike anymore. \

I e-mailed the owner. He's selling because they changed some of the beach/dunes usage rules out there where he is and as a result there really isn't anyplace he can ride this anywhere near him. He thinks it really should be relocated to a new owner with access to big open country in other words the Southwest U.S.

I suggested he join ADV if not already and post up his ad in the FM.

    It's been relisted.
The only way to find out the reserve is to bid, often and higher.

Yeah, I just saw that advert as well - $40K?? :huh

Like I said before, someone may have that much money into something, but don't expect to get it back. Of course there are also many people out there (I'm not one of them unfortunately) who have more money than sense, so maybe they'll get luck and find someone to pony up forty large :D

I seriously doubt that the asking price is any where near what is invested in that rig.

I wonder how high the reserve $$ is...
    Gotta be 20K+.
He has that much tied up in just the fabrication, shocks and front end.
Not to mention the donor bike.

Still...it does look like it would be a ton of fun in the dirt.

    Edit:
Sorry Drone - I didn't see your post about the reserve. My bad.
