Much as I like to start these threads with some item of current pressing interest relevant to the upcoming round, well, frankly there hasn't been much. Instead, we start with a series of lame-ass questions. Will Marquez win yet again? Can Lorenzo stop the Kid from Catalonia? (I don't care what part of Spain Marquez is actually from, Kid and Catalonia are alliterative) Will Pedrosa stop looking like someone shot his dog? Can Cal keep crashing repeatedly w/o serious injury? Can Rossi pull one out of his ass for the homies? Which factory Ducati will knock the other factory Ducati off? All will be revealed! (Nick Harris voice)
Instead, we start with a series of SUCH important and relevant questions that I have to stop working to ponder them. FTFY All will be revealed! (Nick Harris voice)[/QUOTE] Love it!
In breaking news, Dovi says the Ducati doesn't turn very well and they seem to be losing time on the corners, however, they are working on it..... Desperate times all round!
More importantly, if Pedrosa doesn't do some real damage limitation this weekend the Catalonian Kid is going to join the Kentucky Kid on the champion trophy.
Soup is reporting the seamless box will appear on the factory Yams for the race. I'll believe it when GL and VR say so.
I would love to see that but we would need to lose Mark and Jorge at a minimum for that to happen, unfortunately Vale is not that fast now. My dream podium would be Vale, Cal and Nicky, just cause I like those guys! More important news tho, I am finally getting to see a Moto GP live at Philip Island..... I've only had to wait 57 years for this! Wonder if they'll let me ride one of their bikes if I ask nicely? What could possibly go wrong?
YES! The three guys that had (VR), will have (CC) or currently does have (NH) a career screwed by a slow red bike. But I like them too. We need some GoPro video of that, please.....
I think there is a chance of this also, especially if they have a seamless gearbox AND there was some data / info sharing between the Lorenzo and Rossi camps. Rossi wants to be battling with the top 3 from the last 3 races. Lorenzo NEEDS Rossi up front with them to take points away from either MM or Midgetman.
I do agree, but we have seen a few flashes of the old Rossi this year. I also believe the bike is not to his liking. But.. if he is going to bring the magic, Misano will be one of his best chances. And Misano is always strange. Something always upsets the order. Awesome! We will expect photos and on the scene reporting.
Yeah, +1 on the dream podium. I'd like to see the top few shaken up a bit, add some spice. I'm not taking anything away from Marquez, the kid is absolutely amazing, but I hope someone can pull something out of their ass so the rest of the season isn't just a foregone conclusion. Jorge seems genuinely puzzled about not being able to beat Marquez; Lorenzo is so smooth and fast through the corners, but the Kid just rides that Honda like it's an extension of his soul. Pedrosa gives it a valiant effort but it looks like he just has a tiny bit bigger fear factor of pushing it over the edge; Marquez apparently has no fear. Great question about Crutchlow - just how many horrific crashes can he endure and still keep ticking? He's obviously pushing his bike beyond the limit; I'm also sad to see him moving to "the slow red bike", not a step forward in my opinion. All of this insightful discussion aside, are you guys happy with the TV coverage? I am not thrilled with the move from Speed to Fox1Sports, doesn't seem to be a step forward. Maybe I'm just old and set in my ways, I dunno, but it seems like more glitz graphics blabbing and less real analysis/news/coverage. And WTF happened to Speed's coverage of Moto3?? I can't seem to find it anywhere. And while I'm griping, why the fook can't I watch World Superbike on my TV?? I pay over $100 a month for 500 ferking channels of shite (and 200 channels of Sirius Radio) on Dish Network and I still can't watch all the motorcycle racing I want! WAH!!!!! Doug
I have to say JLo and MM fighting tooth and nail for the victory in the last corners at Silverstone (and the win was decided by 0.081 seconds) was plenty spicy for me.... more of the same, please (and VR46 now´s the time to pull your finger out your ___ and show us you can still ride with the best!)
How much of VR's problems are because while he was elsewhere (actually nowhere on the Duc) Yamaha has further developed the M1 for JLo's riding style? BTW, is the infamous wall still in the Yamaha garage? Bet not.
Just my personal guess, but it seems to me that Jorge has become a better rider while VR is sort of where he was in 2010. Even Dani improved once cs27 showed up in his pitbox. I think VR will improve the balance of the season, but probably not enough to take many points from the top 3. Vernon Wells can still hit home runs, but not as often as he once could. That is part of being 34 years old.
Oh no doubt the racing has been fantastic! The Silverstone ending was phenomenal. I've got all the MotoGP races saved on my DVR for viewing when the season is over and that one is PROTECTED so it doesn't get over-written by an episode of Bubble Guppies or the NBC Nightly News or such. I'd just like to see some other riders up there at the front duking it out as well, swap it up a little like they do in Moto2. Yeah, I hope Rossi can do something good at home. He's one hell of a rider and I'm glad he's back on a competitive bike. Wonder what he could do on one of the Repsol Hondas?? He likes it fast and loose too. Doug
JLo is now complaining that the bike needs to be better on the brakes, too. That is Rossi's #1 complaint with the bike. And was Spies' complaint before him. There wouldn't be any problem with the Yamaha if the Honda had not improved. I would say Stoner and Nakamoto were big parts of moving the Honda forward. The retirement of Furusawa at Yamaha seems to have had a negative impact.
