Wow, Great Ride report!

Enjoyed reading the RR especially about Iran lol to bad it's extremely hard or impossible for people from US to ride there if you did you have to go
thru the Iranian interest's section in the Pakistan Consulate in Washington
DC for a visa and the Swiss Consulate represents US interest's in Iran
lol talk about a run around got this from Dept of State website, Euro passport holders have it easy around these parts
Kind of curious what you do down there in south (?) pole any pics of the
white stuff

Just stumbled over this RR and am really enjoying it! Only on page 3 so far and it has been great! You take very nice photographs and your writing is excellent also. A unique look at a part of the Eastern Med we Americans tend not to know much about. Thanks!!

Spitfire Triple did a great job providing the backstory on the 17th Light Dragoons (p.7 and 9?). I would only add that the book "The Death or Glory Boys" (1899) mentions Sgt Willock's presence on Malcolm's mission to Persia and notes that in 1888 his graffito at Persepolis was found by another officer of the 17th. And then brought to our attention by Steffen and his fabulous RR. Thanks so much!!

Somehow I find this reading more fitting to the display.
Might of course never know whether that was the intend of the monks.

Mass of pictures give a comprehensive image of the countries.
Also liked the black & white additions, adds a different angle.

I read it back to back with RTWDoug's report of his trip through Balkan & Turkey.
There were some parallels in sites visited, roads traveled, leading to photos to compare. Made for enhanced reading.

Excelent report. Iran is a country with great culture and nice people, not than the west is determined to attack, should learn from them.

Not to be overly political, but Advrider contains people that are genuinely interested in ANY country and its people/places. Iran has a very hospitable people as has been noted by other reports and by people I have personally met who have been there.

The "west" is a group of people who want peace like most other cultural centers of the world. And Advers, predominately but not exclusively "western", are likely even more peaceful and respectful of other cultures than most.

I am sure many of us read reports like this to come to a real truth about how a country is, because there are people and there are governments- two totally different things (unfortunately). We care about people, great vistas, and jaw-dropping sights here- of all countries and of all cultures.

It's alright. I still use it on occasion. Just really over the "put your rain gear underneath" concept.

besides the rain layer being underneath though? i see this jacket at decent prices now now and was thinking about getting it

For me the most important aspect was the fit. It fit perfectly for me. Your milage will obviously vary.
I still like it for the summer. Well ventilated for this kind of jacket.
The suit was never water proof. Even after sending it in to have it fixed.
