Thanks so much for this! I've been riding my Buell all through NY and New England for a long time, and just purchased a Tiger 800 XC. This gives me a lot more new rides to check out, and I can't wait to get lost through some of these rides, especially the Vermont trips you've mentioned. Bang up job man.

After last year and the lack of rain, the damp is not entirely a bad thing ;)

Can anyone recommend some inexpensive cabins in the Adirondacks for one night stays? I'm looking to do a three day weekend trip from southern VT.

Phenomenal pics!! :clap And thanks for posting some of the routes!

I can't wait for my trip to Newfoundland since I will be riding through the Adirondacks on my way back to OH. Definitely hitting 9N, 86, 431 and probably taking 30/28 to Utica...

Not the Adirondacks but if you venture over to the Ithaca and Watkins Glen area, shot me a PM. I have a place I'm willing to share.

I have appreciated the photos in this thread. I am planning an upcoming trip through the Adirondacks. Can you tell me which roads are the best motorcycle roads? Which are the ones not to be missed? Which road is your favorite?

    Thanks.

Joe can answer this far better but You almost can't miss finding a great road to ride up there. One of my favorite rides when I visit The Park is - Starting at Great Sacandaga Lake, Rt 30 to Rt 3 at Tupper Lake, to Rt 73 into Lake Placid out to Rt 9.

If you wind your way over to 9N from there you can check out the Fort at Ticonderoga and either ferry across to VT or head south down through Lake George ( Still kind of cool to walk through ), down to the Log Jam south of the Village for a nice Prime Rib Dinner. ( Or reverse it and have dinner in Saratoga, maybe get a room for the night and enjoy the Pubs and music scene down there, another great Town to wander Main Street after a day riding).

It's just a wonderful place to ride a motorcycle. Plenty of places to stop and take it all in, make a day out of it and enjoy one of the nicest spots you'll ever visit.

While on NYS RT 30 in the area of Lake Pleasant be very aware of the speed limit as it's a lovely winding road which lead me to become acquainted with the local law enforcement. Friends traveling further north have also been pulled over. You can easily pick up speed during the week when the tourists aren't inundating the roadways & the traffic is almost nonexistent.

    Enjoy the ride....be careful...have fun!

For those of you interested, check out the Adirondacks Tag- o-Rama thread. It's a nice way to share some great roads in and near the Adirondack Park.
