Just wondering if it'll work on 160+ proof moonshine. It burns blue. I know that would be a terrible waste, but we usually have that fuel source at the rallys anyway.
A cork beer coaster (it has to be real cork, not the paper ones) works as an insulator to make the stove burn better if it is cold out. Do you like sitting on cold pavement??
works great! Took ten times longer to find my old backpacking gear than it did to boil 2 cups of water. 2 measured cups of water, 2 oz fuel, strong boiling action at exactly 5 minutes 30 seconds every time. My pots are old school thin wall aluminum. Thank you Shady Rascal I'll be trying them out next weekend. later, griz
CJracer bought 2 and I bought one from him. Works great. Had to try the white gas....just doesn't work. Burns to big and out of control. Denatured alcohol works well also.... Nice piece to add to the weekend cook kit instead of the whisperlite. Happy trails.

I took one along for my trip to the KTM rally in ID, used it to make my meals 2-3 times a day. Worked great. When it gets winding put your panniers around it. I used this for 2 weeks. Great Product.
Got it today and had a chance to test it out. What a cool little stove! It took about as long to boil a pot of cold water as my canister stove it felt like, but a whole lot quieter, lighter, and cheaper. You could probably move a ton of these on the ultralight backpacker forums, especially for the price. Thanks again!
Here's mine in action making morning tea at the SolDuc campground. Note to self: Don't grab the handle of the coffee cup after making hot water. The burned finger is healing nicely after 3 weeks.:eek1
Hey Shady, what a great tool. Got mine in the mail, very quickly I must add, and ran to the garage to test it out. Works just as advertised and went straight into the bike camp pack. Totally awesome. I dug them out and showed some friends and suddenly I lost the two I just got. (Knew I should have shook 'em down before they left.) I guess now I'm on the order for two more!! Just what I was looking for. PayPal ready to be sent for 2. Maybe I missed it but, is it $7 + $7 + $2 = $16 for two or $7 + $2 x 2 = $18 for two? Have you given any thought of making one that is just enough larger or smaller, that you could put one inside the other? A smaller one might work very well for simmering, just a cup of tea/coffee, or heating a small can of soup. I would be very interested in another set of smaller ones if you do this. (and maybe the larger, but space Is an issue) Thoughts?
