A friend of mine in Mineral Bluff GA did the painting. I got most of the prep work done, and let him work his magic.

We used Tim Staffords paint code, and lucky enough had an orginal Dover rear fender. Under the tail light / tag bracket we found unfaded Dover White, which was very different than the rest of the "original" paint that the sun had worked on for 35 years!

Got the final drive back together tonight, so final assembly this weekend. Been a long road, but riding to Barber will be special!

I could never have one because it'd get too dirty/greasy, but I LOVE Dover White /2's.

Assembly is complete! Valves set, carbs close, fluids full, bolts tight, timing set.............. I got everything picked up,
and had to just sit and stare.

The /2s really are a classic look!

That paint job is super, and the pinstripes look fantastic. Who did that work? I've got a bike in the works that needs paintwork...:ear

Great job on the build. I hope she fires on the first kick for you.

Took a day off yesterday, took my GF up to Mt. Greylock Mass on a 4 wheels, saw those two beauties at the summit, had a good short talk with the owners (danedg's name was mentioned few times in the converstation), and was asked to join the BMWVMCA.
