After the last two seasons, are you really surprised? I, for one, am pretty impressed that we were able to end up with a top 5 class. It probably helped that they had the ability to use the 'you can play right away' line without suppressing a laugh for a change. If we can put together a couple of good seasons, we'll get better in the recruiting game again. As for the 4* vs 5* argument, I tend to think statistically the numbers matter across the entire class, but individuals and the situation they're put into can affect their performance dramatically (John Brantley comes to mind). Great player, wrong system...

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that Navy's coach wants to drop Air Force from its schedule.

It'll all become clear in the second week of the season, Florida at Texas A&M. It ought to be a good game, and a telling one at that. Damn, I miss college football! :freaky

Don't rag on a recruit YOU failed to land. Makes you look like a douche.

:nod I've never been much of a Miles fan. Now I'm in the anti-Miles camp. What a douche. Sure contrasts with Gundy's "I'm a Man rant."

No national champions in this list but some pretty solid programs.

What teams have been the worst performers with top talent? (Lot's of 4's & 5's) I think that would be a very interesting statistic.

Maybe sour grapes? Maybe not.... We all know Bielema wouldn't do anything so crass....like go for two up by 30 in the 4th quarter or run up 80 some points on Indiana.... :lol3

At any rate this matchup gets real interesting before ever playing a game.

I mean really, if someone had a chance to get out of Louisiana, and took it, who could really get upset about it? :augie

First team that comes to mind for me is UGA. Richt has managed to do less with more for about a decade. No offense meant to UGA fans, but I live here in Athens, and even the local radio guys say the same. They only managed four or five of the top 25 recruits from the state of Georgia this year which is surprising considering the season they put together last year.

If that was a recruit's biggest concern, FSU wouldn't have signed such a highly ranked class.

I think Muschamp must work on is winning the instate recruiting battles.

I think you'd have to give that particular award to the one and only University of Miami.

"Updated: WVU may get sued by FSU for dropping game, too"

Evidently WVU is anticipating in the Big 12 and has to make room in the schedule by dropping FSU. Of course, their being sued by the Big East for pulling out. Sounds like a big mess for college football and evidently no one can step up and sort it out short of going to court. :huh

So, USC is projected to be the preseason #1. Hard to believe anybody wouldn't put Saban #1 at this point, but there you have it.
