It makes commercial sense to have a Yamaha on the top step. At this point, developing the bike for Rossi might just make JLo 4th.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about the 3rd bike rule. Remember how quickly that pesky "Rookie Rule" vanished?
If the proto teams want it, and are willing to fund it, I can't imagine it not happening. IRTA is the tail wagging the Dorna dog. Quietly, but effectively.

He either didn't learn from last year about running his mouth too much or he doesn't care. Guessing the latter.

I agree, to a degree. But I still don't think it is doing his employment horizon any good. I think when Ducati realized what a loose cannon they potentially had on their hands, they couldn't sign Nicky quick enough.

BTW Nicky is the one who opted for a one year contract with Ducati. Ducati had offered a 2 year deal, as I understand it.

I think Cal is capable of podiums and a few race wins. I don't think he would ever be Moto GP WC.

I don't think Cal needs to be a PC ass kisser. Edwards always speaks his mind and it hasn't hurt his longevity in the least. In fact, it's an asset with most teams, thin skinned Ducati however, not so much.

Rossi right now reminds me of the fast rookie (not MM) who has the speed and racecraft, but just isn't sure he can beat his rivals. He needs a win (even under weird circumstances) to remind him he can beat these guys. Once he doe he will be close to the front and we will see a mix of the four top guys on the podium and trading wins and Cal knocking on their heals. I don't think he will win a championship if there is not a fair number of DNF or DNS for JLo, DP, and MM but he will be closer to the front if he can just win one.
My bet for his first win is Mugello though with rain this weekend or a mixed race all bets are off.

Awesome, thanks for posting that - takes me back to the era when I fell in love with roadracing! Nothing like the old 500's. :D

+1! That was great! Anybody think if they recast the show with actors, Robin Williams could have played Kevin, and Will Ferrell could have played Kenny? :lol3
