Yachtie- if you like that look, search fleabay for VonZeti. Seats, subframes, and other parts used on the KSS bikes.
Done. The subframe and seat ship on Friday. Ordering some tommaselli condor plus bars and calling it a day. Then going to ride the hell out of her for awhile before I tackle anything else. Need to find some really cool lo profile turn signal LEdS if anyone has suggestions.
I was thinking about getting that rear subfame but it makes it hard to put a shelf under the seat hump for a battery or tools or whatever. I found some very nice low profile LED signal lights at Dime City Cycles.
Spendy but very kewl...http://www.rizoma.com/universal/indicator-lights/en I like these, but there are other Rizoma styles - from - http://www.pjsparts.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=59 Cheers, M.
a lot to like about that ride GW and clean ... even the intake elbow clamps are shiny nice spot for the front blinkers, etc
My subframe bends down like all the others. I solved the problem by building my own seat. I just didn't care for any of the available ones and I wanted mine to flip up like the stock seat so that I could keep a tool tray underneath and get to the battery. Here's what I did: First get some foam blocks and cut away anything that doesn't look like a seat. Then sand it to shape. Cover it with Bondo (fiberglass will melt the styrofoam) and sand it, fill it and then cover it with a couple of layers of fiberglass cloth and resin. Fill it and sand it some more. Make sure it fits. Finally, paint it and most importantly, find a good upholsterer to make you look good.
I love this photoshop picture. Never mind half the shocks were cut off in the rear of that slash2 frame and that there are no cables anywhere. Unfortunately this bike can only exist in our imaginations.
I traded for this seat thast was built for a /5 and made it fit my R90S. The rear had an embedded "racing stripe" ferature that I filled in. Then I had a local upholstery shop cover it. I think this is the best shape for a rear cowl, don't you agree?
I could have saved a lot of work with a seat like that. I agree with you about the shape. My goal was to make the cowl relate to the tank profile to give a cohesive look to the bike. I think it worked.
