Wow that looked like a great trip. Rich has hooked me up before too. He is a huge resource. Great times. DD
Guy's great report. I have been planning a trip down in May and am looking for feedback on routes etc. Last trip down was on a GSA and we were stuck to mainly paved routes, I now have a 500 EXC and it needs to go to Baja. Can I PM for some intel on some of your tracks? Keep it coming, I am going a bit nuts up here in the "Great White North"! and the reports help. Although, the skiing has been great! Thanks, Richard
Sure thing Richard! PM me and I can give you more details. I would be happy to give you my insight on each track. alot of it comes down to your riding ability as to what would be fun or just plain miserable. you have the right bike for sure though!
excellent! I wish I was one week out!! you will have a great time whether you take pavement or dirt! when you get to La Paz there's a great resturant called Buffalos it was on the travel channel, also for a great cheap dinner in Cabo try Maro's you get two lobster tails and a steak for $16.99 we ate there three nights in a row in October!! have a great time!!
Thanks, Dirtdiver. Ya Rich was a big help for sure. He knows the area really well and he has tracks for most every area. Its guys like him that make this site such a grear resource.
Thanks Dozer, I hope to model a trip report after yours when I get back. I'll make sure to leave Catavina early so I will have enough daylight to get to El Rosario if I don't find any accommodations at Punta SC. I will be traveling very light so no sleeping bag but the little bivy bag. I'll pretty much be riding the opposite direction as you guys, down the SoC side and in the mtns then back up the Pacific side. PM sent
A lot of those trails look like a blast. The really rocky ones and the silt, maybe not so much! I'm hoping I can get back down there soon on a bike better suited for Baja.
I cant believe it has been over a year since I have kissed the sand in Baja. Great RR, you have left me and my ridin buds jonesin for all the coolness to be had down there. Thanks, Joe.
Yes Boonie, Tank paniers! I kind of felt like an old man putting them on, but I guess I am getting to be an old man!! They were nice though for all the small stuff you need throughout the day. I figured they would also protect the tank during a tip over, which they did! Thanks for following along!
