Howdy Dave, I didn't have much luck finding a home for my 55". I think I am going to donate it to charity.

    YMMV....

    Happy Holidays.

I took mine to the county transfer station.
They took it and two CRT TV's and two CRT monitors for free.

Right before Christmas a couple years ago.

They had three semi trailers, one was full, another was almost full and the lady that works there said the third one would be full right after Christmas.
She said she would fill up another three trailers before the Superbowl.

    Meh, you're screwed Dave.

    TV??
Y'all should be listening to MUSIC!!
    Haven't I taught you anything?

    Merry Christmas, indeed!!
I am fortunate enough to celebrate Christmas with all of my immedeate family, as well as cousins, aunts, neices and nephews. We gave up on the gift giving finally, and just get to enjoy each other's company. Family are friends that you don't hafta impress or judge, or even see very often. Family is just there. Always. I am glad to share these holidays with them, and I sypathise for those that cannot, and feel sorry for those that choose not to, with the opportunity available. Most of my old friends do not come around anymore, do not wanna socialise like we used to. They yave families, they have a warm couch, and they have Facebook. What do they need me for? Thank Dog for my real family for always being there, and thank Dog for my ADV family. You all still wanna have fun in life, and embrace it with gusto, not sit around and wait for time to pass.

    Merry Christmas!!
Now go listen to some MUSIC, willya?

I would donate this thing to charity, but in order to do that I would have to get it to them, I can't lift or carry the darn thing by myself, gettin old is a real bitch sometimes. :puke1

    Dave,
Through a Google search it appears that the Salvation Army picks up donated tv's, etc. http://satruck.org/
Good luck and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

    Howdy Keith,

Heres hoping our trails will again cross. I clicked your link, I guess I am to far out in the sticks, they won't do pick-ups in my zip code. Merry Christmas and the best of New Years to you and those you love.

I second the Craigslist free ads. Although if you have a neighbor who will load it into your car, the Goodwill in Everett off of Everett Mall Way will take all TV donations and they'll unload it out of your car. I've seen pallets and pallets of monitors and TV's there.

Well, as I can't give this thing away to someone to watch, I guess I'll give it away to a scraper, there is a place on the way to best buy where we are going to buy the new TV that takes old TV's and computers to scrap out.

I guess I am of an age where things weren't just thrown away, folks used to make a good living repairing appliances even things like toasters, nowadays its just chuck it in the trash and buy a new one, yeah, I am an old FF. :1drink
