Sharp old ride Be108. If you turn those fork boots around they will drain properly and your seals will last much longer. If you wouldn't keep it so clean I'd have never noticed.
I haven't read through all 53 pages, so hope this is not old news... I modified the fairing like this. It rotates the stock windshield forward about 10-15 degrees, which cleans up the airflow a lot. Also, opens up a space behind the windshield, where I constructed a homemade dashboard and mounted a GPS. You could also put things like switches, power outlets, etc, there...
Does this change where the air flow strikes you? Been wondering how this compares to something like the +9 windshields. Thanks.
Love the look of this mod but rode a buddie's after he did his and it added a significant amount of buffeting. YMMV.
The thing about this modification is you can move the angle of the windshield a few degrees, or all the way to nearly vertical. Compared to what I saw others had done, my change was on the conservative side. I had a tall windscreen (I think it was +6", not sure), which caused a lot of buffeting around the helmet level. Went to this setup, and I get clean air at the head level, and a wind break at the chest level. Probably also depends on how tall you are... Yep, YMMV....
KLX forks on a KLR...not a great shot. I will have to get some more soon.. KLR650R by sky_soldier_82nd, on Flickr Thanks again to Holycaveman...... excellent work.... Here is a vid showing how much the KLX front end can take.... I hit a mound in the road and you can see how much travel the front end has..... I set it in slow motion..... <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HfZ70hMRULU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
