Did a road ride up there in 2011, Sherman Pass, Kernville, overnight at Horse Meadow, then to Lodgepole where it was packed, and the third night at Kings Canyon where there may have been one or two campers throughout. Nice little dirt road to the falls as well. It's a nice ride with some grippy road tires.

That was the year we had all the snow and rain - Sherman Pass was closed in early June, and the Kings River looked like was about to go over the bridge. Roaring Falls was a hoot.

Also hiked in to Tokopah Falls from Lodgepole.

Oh, we climbed Moro Rock too. Worth the hike up on top.

Oh I misread your post. I thought they closed the road. I have a bit of history and probably a few parts left on that road. Jimmy knows.

i'll work on the sub-frame this week and then pick a date on the calendar. if next month gets hot @ high 90's, let's hit the san simeon coast.

small group preferred since good chance we'll be camping on the bluff overlooking the pacific.

glad to hear it was renamed to hudson ranch rd., the former name is just too difficult to spell.

Anyone know if the fire roads between Lake Huges Road and San Francisquito Canyon are open? What about the Old Ridge Road north of there?

perry thanks. i have a miller and should be able to weld it, maybe not as nice.

will just touch up the welded areas with canned paint.

i think that one is closed due to the fire.

old ridge road north of there? you mean the fire road above it? one that starts from lake hughes and ends near quail lake rd?

If no takers, I may lightpack the Gixxer and roll north along the coast.

Is it steel or AL, if Al use a tig nicer results than with a spool gun on a mig.

the LB Swap meet is 95% harley 4% flea market crap and 1% "interesting, WTF is it?" For the $9 admission (on a bike) it's really not worth it!
