The day before, I rode into KY, 340 miles from home. Had intentions of going much further. Not an hour after arriving, got a phone call that my aunt passed away.
So I had to head back. Was just a few miles from home when I saw you.

Got some good file photos on the way back anyway.

Anybody out there in NEOland know of someone local that does quality Airhead Bmw work? I need a transmission rebuilt for my GSPD,I don't have the time, desire, patience etc... to do it myself, besides I want it done right (not very good advertising, I know)I'm trying to avoid shipping it out, would rather give someone local the money

My buddy has had a guy named Gunther do some work for him. I could give him a call tonight to get some details.

When the topic came up on the local BMW forum, nobody had a good local source for even a final drive. If it were mine, I'd be doing it myself, but I can't claim airhead gearbox experience. My first tendency would be to ship it to Guenther Wuest in Indiana. If you want me to tackle it, I can, but it would be a slow process and If I found a surprise, it might still find its way to Guenther.

and if I hadn't taken so long to post, I'd have beaten chip to the Guenther response, but he isn't local.

    some resources

Anton Largiader and Tom Cutter would also be on my short list for gearbox builders.

Yep, and I biffed on the ice. A couple of new scratches, but no real damage to me or the bike. Did I mention the ice was in my driveway.

Sorry to hear about the biff.

I have been crawling with feet down out the icy driveway so that I can ride to work. Kept it upright so far.

Normally I'd do it myself too,I yanked it out the other day and thought about it but it needs the circlip mod and I wanted a longer Siebenrock or HPN 5th gear etc... The transmission in this bike is the only thing that has not been overhauled or redone. i was hoping to find somebody around here so there is no excuse to put it off.:lol3
