We had a good plan and maybe 10 guys to do a Search for the Hottest Chicks of the Big Bend Area. We had planned to meet in Marathon, Tx. unload the bikes and make a Big Loop. That was not to be!

My Son Don, V2.0 was really excited about his first trip to Big Bend :lol3

We worked our way down through Texas. I thought we could get South of the Storm but our Smart Phone Radar showed us driving along the Axis of the Storm. With perseverance and a GMC we made a 9 hour trip to Marathon in only 13 hours.:evil
We arrived late to the Marrathon Motel and RV Park and found our key, turned the Heater on and got a good nights sleep.

Friday morning we met up with Clark ,the only Survivor of the Ten that were to come. They may have been smarter than us!

Because it was so cold we decided to scratch the big loop and go to plan B.
We hauled the bikes to Rancho Neglecto and plugged the trailers in. We were going to camp in our trailers instead of the tents.

Later that Afternoon it warmed up enough for a ride down the Rollercoaster know as Ranch Road 170 or River Road.

We stopped for a few photo ops. Don V2.0 had never been there.

After our short ride we headed to the Starlight for a little Culture and a Meal.

We will check out the Topless Beach maƱana!

Check out the Hot Springs to warm you up. On the way to Rio Grande Village is a sign on your right. Usually some beautiful Texas Blondes there... usually.

I rode down to Big Bend from Marfa in June. The road along the Rio is quite an experience.

We awake Saturday Morning to Misty Skies and Freezing temperatures.
The Topless Beach will have to wait.

Had a nice Breakfast at the Chili Pepper then proceeded to explore Via 4x4.

The Trading post had a nice Fire going.

The day was pretty much a throw away but we made the most of it.
The Basin seemed like a good destination for Lunch. It was quite a surprising drive up the Mountain. It was 30 degrees with Fog at the bottom, 24 and freezing rain in the middle, and Sunny and 45 degrees at the top. I did not expect that.

After a pretty crappy Bowl of Taco Soup we headed back down.

Had a nice Toddy around the Camp fire and called it a day.

Yeah River Road is kick ass !! I have done it on a sportbike and on a Harley and its fun on anything !! I love the area down there. I hae that you guys got hit with the cold weather. Once we were spending the night in Marfa and were wearing t shirts woke up the next morning and it was 38 degrees - It was a cold day of riding but man I like road trips down there
