it's summer and sizzling here in the valley. the desert is too hot to go riding for wimpy PPs like me. l.a. has the coast and the mountains, they are our respites for cooler weather riding.

everyone was waiting when eric and i made it to the meeting spot (e.camino/gibraltar). we had 9 riders, then 10 after bob caught up.

east camino has some good dirt on the east end, and we have to take the pavement to get there...damn, even the slab was good too.

Just catching up. Looks like I really screwed up and missed a great ride in my own backyard and a chance to meet a few more ADV inmates. Hope to see some of you at WMRS. :D

no worry bob, what i didn't see doesn't bother me, except once when you passed me at the corner using the incoming lane.....hehehe.[/QUOTE]

You forgot to add the large rut in the corner where the on coming rider would have had to go :eek1
I'd like to pass on the straight but most folks speed up on the straights and make passing harder
So passing in the corners is what's left..... a slower rider should slow down on the staight as soon as they know
a faster rider is behind them.... not after a few turns... yes I know Its not a race but we all have a speed we like and
    that's what makes it fun.
I like slid'in and fly'in the bike and that needs speed :norton

after west camino, 4 of us (eric, jim, jon, and i ) continued to galavant.

next stop was the painted cave, off the east side of the 154 on a very nice narrow twisty road.

it's ancient, before the west was won. great to see it has been preserved

    Vic,
Looks like a great ride you set up. How are the "hard" parts compared to Rowher? Will I shatter another collar bone or are they pretty tame? I saw one pretty hairy short climb in Joel's pics. Other than that it looks pretty harmless.

we made it back to the trucks in summerland before 8 pm.

also, earlier in the morning, we were late and jon was early but he had to leave so he could be at the meeting spot on time. he left us this, meaning...see ya later PPs.

see you on the next ride, enjoy the beautiful summer. life is good.
