Just bought this home! Stuffed it into the back of my XC70, 1976 YZ400C, complete with the exception of the stock tank and one side panel! Vintage big bore goodness complete with rarer than hens teeth KYB canister air forks...

Cool bike. I picked mine up about six months ago. I am slowly going through it. Mine was about 98% original and starts on the first kick. My tank has one small bb sized dent you can see and one you have to run your finger over to feel it. Very low hour bike.

There's something pleasantly yin-yang about seeing a dirt bike stuffed in the back of a Volvo wagon.

Ha! Before the XC70 I had a little S40, I once drove from CNY to Chicago in the middle of a snow storm and picked up two 1975 Honda Elsinore CR125M1's took them apart and stuffed them both in the S40 sedan and drove back to central NY all in 21 hours!

The gas tank is aluminum as that was stock on those bikes. They are out there but hard to come by in decent shape. That was one of the buying points of this bike. The tank is probably worth more than what I paid for the whole bike.

I have aluminum tanks on my 100C and 125X (photo below). The 400C I bought had a big Clarke desert tank . I'm on a mission to find the stock tank!

    Here is my 76' X

Good! I raced expert class back in 76-77 with them. Compared to modern, not as good! ;)
