You have a point considering how it looked last time went there on a warm day near Thanksgiving. it was a madhouse. Trucks were all parked up the access road.

Is there a foot trail with a suspension bridge over the Pedlar River?

Good point. I am stickler for staying in the green area... only roads that are open and no private property trespassing.

Yeppers... it's the AP trial. A great bridge. This is a great suimming place also.

Trout fishing is great also.. but you have to follow the 'delayed harvest' rules south of the dam.

This is great! Thanks! It lets me open this on my phone as well which will work wonderfully. I'm downloaded the maps for offline use right now so I should be good to use just my phone out there even if I lose service.

    Nice!!

Don't feel bad. I was the only one to show up at the Pinewood on a bike. Never mind that none of the other 8 that showed up don't ride. And yes, they take bets on whether I'd be riding. :lol3

Musta been law-enforcement day over there. There were 6 or so Henrico Police cars in the lot when I arrived with approx. 8 uniforms inside.... followed by one of their forensic units (6 people) after they left.

Nice map. There is a 2 track from 60 directly north of Swamping Camp Rd. IT veers to the left from the AT. Won't claim to know where it exactly comes out but we went on it 2 years ago and I think it connected or crossed Wiggins springs.

It does come out onto Wiggins Springs. If I remember correctly, the Ranger who told me about the road called it Cow Camp road. Local name maybe? I can't convince Google to give me the coordinates but I am pretty sure it comes out just beyond (East) of the last house. The one with the big pond and lots of evergreens. Look for it connecting to Wiggings Sprins just beyond where those evergreen trees fizzle out. You can make out the road on satelite view. Google shows a good bit of it as a road from 60 so that end can be marked on this map. Shoe Creek can also be marked entirely as Google shows a road there. Good work btblueskies.

Maybe yall are talking about N Fork .. State Route 635?
The section from 60 North peters out after two water crossings and the FS closed it at that location. My Delorme Map has it connecting all the way up to Wiggings.. but it was close a while ago. I was talking to a hunter there on thanksgiving day and he said it was washed out quite bad in places.

Or maybe it comes out at Long Mountain Wayside?

Link to video of water crossing at that location.

No. We are talking about where your pink road meets 60 at the wayside. There is a road into the NF across from there. Thre is also a gravel rd that leaves the wayside that follows 60 before returning to 60 close to the N. Fork rd. Zoom in at the wayside (pink route & 60) and you can see the road. Google has it marked for about 1/4 to1/3 of the way to Wiggins Spring. That road should be closed right now too.

    Guy,
I noticed the first couple RTEs I attended you where there and a gaggle of cops at each one. One there was even a chopper over head, thats how i found that one. Makes me wonder if they are one step ahead of you.

    Greg,
Thanks for ordering the souvlaki for me as I requested. I also had souvlaki in Williamsburg, cause I actually had to work today. We frequent this place so much that the owner brought us out some free deserts.

Also way to show up those young punks by riding instead of woosing out like they did.

    Michhub & Eddy-

I might be able to do a long ride Sunday. I'm riding Saturday with Nicole so it will be tame, but one of these days this weekend with this great weather. I want to head west and do some serious riding...out early back late...

Let me know what everyone is thinking or just keep me in the loop, cause I am up for a fast hard dirt ride!!!

I would have totally been there today... but me and my bright ideas took down the dev database and I had lots of people giving me bad looks...... lots... so I ate cheetos in my cube.

In this instance... equate 'cube' with 'foxhole'. Nice day at work. At least I got the map started :)
