Nope. Cleaned out the garage last weekend. Sold a pile of DR farkles plus my beloved old DR plus tossed a heap of gear in the rubbish. I'm thinking the spacer has rolled off the bench and landed in my bench side bin which was later emptied into the council bin. And the council rubbish man came the day before I realized it was missing!!! :eek1

The question is still: "How was it all sorted."

Been lurking here for ages, but since I've just stumbled onto this thread I think I should ring in with a couple of pics of my DR

The only thing it's missing is a long range tank, came with heaps of good bits, I'm really happy with it.
Being my first 'dirt' bike (only been riding for about 18 months) bought it for a bit of dirt experience to help my road riding and now it gets ridden far more than my other bike.
I'm really getting into adventure riding, considering getting camping gear sorted so I can go on longer rides.

Thanks again to all who offered assistance. Oodeano had just what I needed (you Champion! ), bike all back together and goes like a new one. Packed and ready to roll off to the TTT rally Thursday night.

Has anyone heard of the stock BST carb leaking gas from where the fuel inlet pipe connects to the carb on the DR? We had my mates carby off the other night to put a DJ kit in and since then it's been weeping gas ever so slightly. Not from the overflow though where you'd expect to see it, but from what looks like could be the float bowl gasket or inlet pipe. Bowl came off and gasket is all good. Overflow pipe isn't blocked so I can't work out why/how/where it could be leaking fuel?

That's heaps - at least 6 litres there! At 21 km per litre that should almost get me almost 135 km's.

And I haven't forgotten I still owe you 500 ml's of fuel.

someone correct me if i'm wrong, isn't there a tiny rubber o-ring that can pop off the lower section of the float bowel if you aren't careful? or am i just getting confused with the one that definitely exists at the top of the carb when you take the plastic top off?

Hey b1 nah there's no o-ring on that bottom section unfortunately, just the gasket. I've ordered a new float bowl gasket and needle and seat and for it but I'm still perplexed. If the needle and seat were shot it should be leaking from the over flow. That's why I'm thinking it must be the inlet pipe.

The fuel line may have a pin hole leak or small split??

That inlet is stuck in there tight, some guys have bent them trying to rotate for a larger tank. I wonder if that wicking Loctite would work in this application?

Yeah I'll change the hose as well while I've got the bike apart. It's odd that I can't see any fuel on the end of the hose as that'd be the obvious culprit.

I know I've twisted mine around to get everything out of the safari tank and that pipe is in there tight. That's why it seems unlikely to me that it could leak from here on my mates bike. I think I'll try and seal it off anyway with some loctite or jbweld just incase
