    Crome Steel all the way.
If you look at the market spectrum you will soon find out that the old engines are T-Rex creatures ,Gas eating and Fart puffing , Outdated engines. When gas was cheaper then Pepsi.
Climb up to smell the roses. To get better gas milage you need a crome cylinder,Its true they cant be bored out as the old T-Rex cylinders. You just get a new one as well as pistons.
But most just need the pistons since the crome walls on these babys are strong.
The US was a leader in big engines and muscle cars true back in the day. NOT NOW.
I notice you name CAT Cummins Industrial producers of Diesel engines. And only 1 automaker FORD.
Well i have a old Ford with a 302 Cid engine trusted Van and hold up well but a real gas guzzler.
When the engine is running and i have to attach my trailer to the Van i weap over the flow of gas running out my exhaust pipe. And its in top condition.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Diesel
All new diesel engines do not offer a bore out option. And if you think a integrated or seperate gears box has anything to do with engine Life your wrong.

A gear box is the hearth of the engine.

Engine makes combustion power , Gears take that power thru the gears.

To bore out a cylinder block is totaly outdated and obselite thinking bare in mind in a old fuck as well.

To have Crome cylinder for the Piston is like having a tight wrap around all the time :wink::wink::wink:

    Happy New Year Baby.

:nod The naysayers appear whenever a new model appears.. and you gotta laugh when you read such thoughts when there's very little known about the new liquid cooled engine. Nothing official has been released, but hey, that's what makes these forums "interesting". Everyone's an expert on the interwebs. :D Honda's GL1800 Goldwings have no separate engine and transmission oils and I've seen bikes with 200, 300 and even 400,000 miles..

Speculation is all we have, and some gravitate towards the negative, and some positive. Since we know virtually nothing about this mythical new wethead, we just make stuff up. Also, there are always those who hate change, those who live for change, and those who bitch about both change and a lack of change. :evil

Welcome to the wonderful world of the BMW Motorcycle!:lol3

Same complaint was lodged against the GS in the recent cycle world comparison.

If it is twitchy to you it is probably set up wrong. A few who come from conventional forks never adjust to the telelever. Apparently they just can't figure out how to set it up and ride the way it is designed.

I have noticed that my 2005 gs seemed twitchy approaching 100 mph racing through the twisties. I have been told that the shocks are probably bad.

There is not much to change on the front end, maybe you can pm me what I should do to have it setup correctly.

    Thanks,
    Danny

Let me guess, did you have less than 1/2 a tank of fuel at the time? The '09-'11 GS's I've ridden seem to do that with less than half a tank of fuel.

My buddy Mr Tall Known to be a Canadian and tall as a tree. Has been a great source of INFO.

They even posted a Video on youtupe off the snapshots Mr Tall & Motorrad posted in here Great.

Ok Lots of knee space. Since the engine is more forward , More pressure on the front tire should turn out a better track bike:lol3

WHAT WILL BE IN THE CANBUS DEPARTMENT ?????????

Did you figure out a way how to extract electron movemensts from a picture? :D
BOSCH CAN-BUS. Why not? It's working well on the current GS.
I'd assume Bosch will be supplying a lot of content on this bike but who knows?
There are good Japanese suppliers as well, just think of the new Triumph Explorer using a Japanese supplier
    for the final drive assembly...

    LED Daytime running light
    Electric wind-screen
GPS integration in instrument cluster? I doubt it. Rather expecting externally mounted Garmin GPS
    Active suspension system?
    Cruise control?
Do we know anything else electrical? ABS generation, ESA....

    Hi Tall.

Thank you for the info yesterday.
On the Canbus system i feel we need to get more goddies.

The can offers so much potencial in use its options are limitless.

With Esa the bike could even Kneel down
The turn signal could flash and blink
    the brake light as well
It can handel a remote start
    A remote engine block heater
A loan power reduction when having it test driven etc...... Low power Medium power High power Trail power
This is sounding like forrest gump shrimp cocking :rofl
it can even have a alone highway power light option for more light output
The Canbus is a marvel in electric.

Now i have many thinking so fire away Shoot this down and tell all.

CAN-BUS is only a serial bus protocoll allowing for more efficiency when it comes to controller interconnections, at least I think. Only 2 wires, less wiring, easier diagnostics and so on.
It's not a product which would allow for all these goodies, you'd still need to control all of them.
You want the GS to kneel down for you? You must really think highly of yourself :lol3

Well i dont think that. I like the Bemmer.

So the steer did not work :evil

And yes the canbus needs controlers for what it needs to do.
But its a perfect system. Can do almost any thing.

i been in a house loaded with Canbus controls HI-fi , Tv Heat , Outside Patio heat Hot tub , Indoor tub Curtain . Can be done with a phone even , you get the picture.

Sounds like an expensive dream house, you own it? All I have is a Harmony-One remote and it does nothing :-)
No wonder Kaupthing Bank went downhill, well, Germans will sell a lot of BMW's and therefore will make up for all that bailout money now being donated to all my fellow PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain) forum members :lol3

Nah, that's a TFT color screen, it's like the one used on the K1600 to display bike functions.

We've been clamoring for cruise control for years, but I highly doubt they will offer it on the GS, despite Triumph doing so.. "You want cruise, get the RT" :(:
