There is a ride planned on the RR line from St. Thomas to Blenhiem, Im gonna try and make it. http://www.odsc.on.ca/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20607&p=135003#p135003
Let us know if it is the same conditions as here please. If we could just get some maniac in a giant 4x4 to fly up and down it a couple of times it'd be great. No tracks yet, just deep gravel.
Thanks for the info. I might check it out. I don't think the planned route this weekend is the same one I spotted, but I'll see how I feel...
A woman of course...in 1971 purchased a BSA in England and travelled around Europe...passing a truck in France-BSA blew up...loaded on train to Paris where I met a woman from Pennsylvania....been living in Pa since 1976..get back to London several times a year...in fact a good friend from London is arriving today and I am heading up in November.
---------------------------- I have ridden the rail-line from Windsor as far as Tilbury - little squirrely in places but good fun. Unfortunately I won't make this Sundays ride from St Thomas but would love to have the route for future adventures... can someone please create a GPS file for me? Looking on Google maps I can see the railway coming out of St Thomas but it seems to end at Dutton?? .. assuming its gravel roads from there? Would also be interested in knowing exact location of the Ridgetown\401 trails please. Many thanks 09'KLR650-Tecumseh Area
How did the ride on the trail go? I would have love to go but raked leaves and put the RV away for the winter.
It was fun, came home with a very dirty bike and a reshaped shifter and I owe some one about 1/2 a bushel of corn, but ya it was a good ride
It was quite a sight. Todd was in front of me and before I know it he disappears into a cornfield. I was hoping the trail continued past Blenheim but it appeared to fizzle out. Excellent ride and I would definitely make the trip again.
Hee Hee, ya dont cross the slippery center ridge at the wrong time....throttle was not my friend oops. I bet it was neat to see from behind as it was pretty farout from behind the bars. Too bad it dosent go futher, but that was a pretty good run we had, definatly would do it again. Cheers, Todd
So ya, despite having my camera with me I took no pic.s as we didnt slow down much, but this is the result, shoulda went for a ride in the rain today to warsh her off eh!(corn cobs cleared out by now) Smooth showed up with a nice clean DR as well, lotsa pudddles and slippery stuff, but nice ride for a rail line, much beter than I imagined. Lets meet in the middle sometime guys and we will find something worth riding.
I,ll just blither on a bit here as Im in the garage drinking, but sperpaPat sould chime in with his experince as he did qiute well on his first outing with street tires through the very slick rain soaked clay that was the first part of the run...I just dont think he bought the"that was the hard part, it gets better from here" bit It did a bit Pat, it just wasnt as constant slippery shit as the first bit, good job mate! Cheers, Todd
I managed to snap a couple of shots after you returned my bag. Here's one of them. I still haven't got around to cleaning it yet. Name the place. Essex county has some similar small sections then what we rode on Sunday but its nothing to write home about and you'll never get into 4th on the "trails".
