Yes, my second, this year. Great riding, good mix of two-lane hardtop, FS roads and jeep tracks. Well worth the effort to get to Enterprise. Brian is a great host.

We were through about noon. First time for us and I really enjoyed quad riders with no shirts on and the 400lb guy on a 3wheeler with no helmet ripping at about 60mph. It's like a whole new world up there.

    Haha
We saw some campers the other side of the slip, but that's it.
Had hi rocks all to our selfs but Olallie was pretty busy.
We hit the back road over to Brightonbush and had that to our selfs as well.
All and all it was an amazing day to ride!

Where is this powerline trail? It's not a mountain bike only path or anything?

I grew up 'round Estacada - spent a lot of time in the woods. I think of it as a place where the men are men, and so are the women. First time I saw Deliverance it was strangely familiar....

Dodging the heat. Heading out early tomorrow to lolo pass and surrounding area. Plan to head out barlow trail to zigzag and north from there. I've been over the pass once several years ago, I plan on exploring more this time. All forest roads, nothing to technical.

Hitting Biscuits Cafe for breakfast, plan to leave there by 8AM.

Well, on out for a little ride about. I went up to Estacada and ran Abbott Road out to High Rock.

The weather was great but there were a few messy spots here and there.

Of course like with most motorcycle rides, there is the extreme hazards along the way. :eek1 I did have this massive, raging, river crossing that I had no choice but to cross. (I did have to use Photoshop just a bit. So as not to scare anyone.)

So after that I needed a little break......

.....and it was back on the trail again.

And then it was on to the famous slide.

And then it was back on the trail.............

...... And on up to High Rock....

    the end.............

The Slip looks to be in pretty good shape. I'm nursing an elbow injury these days but before the next monsoons I'm headed up thar by golly.

jjdun7's ride up to high rock looked fun, so I gave it a shot.

    Stopped for lunch here...

After stopping at the bottom of the slide, I reflected I could have just taken that momentum and continued on. No worries, worked out ok.

I walked down to take a pic of the bike at the top and ended up falling while on foot. Oh well, should have stayed on the bike.

This poor guy makes it through the slide in his Dodge Ram only to wander off and end up hung up. 10 ft earlier and he would have rolled down the edge. he and his wife walked 4.5 miles up to high rock. They got picked up at 1AM, very cold. They tow company was heading in with four wheelers to pull him out. Truck was all scratched up on the slides.

Ok, you rocks stay put while I snag this shot.

    Spectacular day.

Great pics Kevin. I can only imagine what that hike out must've been like for that couple, poor guy. :pain

Those hitting up 4610 for the first time should plan for a side trip up Squaw Mtn, the view is not to be missed.

Had some fun, challenging adventure getting to the summit and towers on Goat Mtn. It helped having someone who had been up that way once or twice, leading the way (thanks 88Toyota). One little gate to keep vehicles from making it to the top, which was easily bypassed on two wheels. After making the summit, we headed down to Clear Lake and then out the hard way. We then weaved our way through shooters on Memaloose and headed for home. Great morning with only a couple minor mechanical mishaps (kinked fuel line on my XR, left my rear turn signal out there somewhere) and no wrecks.

It would be easy to do Abbott as an out and back in a day.
But..... you can also head North on 58 towards Still Cr Rd (near Trillium Lake) and do the most excellent Wilderness edged bumpy & fun out & back to Kinzel Lake :nod Still Creek Rd will spit you out at ZigZag
