I don't think it disables the S/T modes.

I wouldn't disagree on the stairs. Nice mess to clean up I would imagine.

Mine came from the dealer with it installed just that way.

:huh Just how big were the stairs?

When you can snatch Tenere from jaws of death you are ready to leave Grasshopper.

You mean going down stairs isn't easy like it looks on the Bourne movies? I'm shocked.

I knew you were going to ask this. Doh!

I do not know the actual number, but as I recall, it was the same as the normal one with only the second to last digit being different. He showed me this to convince me of the similarity.

The ST1200Z one is 5GH-13440-20. That would make the one I used either 5GH-13440-10 or 5GH-13440-30. Have a chat with your dealer, it is likely he will have one with these numbers on and you could compare them.
I would go to my local dealer in Cartagena but my Spanish is not good enough to make him understand what I want.

I can however confirm that it fits and it lasted a full service term.

It was just 3 freaking steps... I needed to park in a gated parking lot. So I decided to go in through the side walk/foot path down some stair.

I stood up, go down and bam!
2nd step hit the sump (silver bit) denting it in and cracking it.
Stopped me in my tracks, and I almost went over the handle bars.

If I hadn't been straight and need to put a foot down, I would have gone over. Seesawed if off, doing more damage.

I feel for ya man. Even my Dakar with 10" of travel isn't too happy going down steps, I pretty much limit that activity to my Djebel 250.

Maybe a bit more damping on the rear shock would have helped. :lol3

Ummm.. Do they have a rear shock? :dunno

Kinda what I thought. No amount of 'speed bump' should send you into a front flip. Something is either wrong with that bike, or wrong with that speed bump.

    Hi Guys,
Has any one seen or had this happen/ a very slight seep of oil between the swingarm and final drive?
Next tire change I'm going to remove final drive and use yamabond to seal. It seems there is no gasket between swingarm and final drive.

    Woof,

Looks like it was a large bump and he may have touched the front brake.
When the front wheel hit I saw some smoke and then the wheel went to a hard left creating a hard stoppie. Just my two cents.

My guess is no shock or stuffed shock on the back.. it seems the spring's rebound after compression is uncontrolled!

There is an o ring to hold back any oil. What you are seeing is probably assembly grease that melted and ran down the shaft. I don't think you need to use Yama bound. jmho
