I've had them on my 1200 for a week on the rear and three days on the front. So far, so good. Not too loud, minimal vibrations and handling is quite good, although the tip in to a corner in a bit abrupt.

So, rotational pattern of the front is opposite of the rear?

They usually are with directional patterns.

To get traction from the rear when accelerating, and to get braking traction from the front.

You just can't make that call from a photo, especially when it's not mounted on a bike or inflated. Look at the front and rear photos more carefully, and imagine you're Johnny The Lurking Mud Demon trying to unseat an unsuspecting Metzeler buyer. Draw a line directly perpendicular to the tyre's centreline, i.e. mimicking the side-to-side movement earlier commentators have worried about.

You can't get through, can you? The "big sideways groove", in fact, has a pronounced fore-aft sweep. This means that as the trailing edge of one set of knobs is still in contact, the leading edge of the next has already touched down. No direct side-to-side pathway is available for water or debris.

How that translates into off-road feel I don't know, but neither does anyone else who hasn't ridden with them. But just looking at a photo can be misleading.

(If what you mean to say is you don't like the looks, well, that's a different story. I've taken against the K60 front, for example, for no reason more valid than I think it looks silly.)

    Up!

Here are some pictures of my front and rear Karoo 3:

    I made 100km with them.

Really happy with those tires, less vibrations than the K60s I had on my ex 950 Adv. Noisy between 50 and 60km/h but that's not a problem.

Really good on dry roads, no problems on the wet too for the moment.

In TT, they are better than the K60s, the rear doesn't have this center band so the traction is good! And the front slides less than the K60 in wet terrain.

Really happy with them for the moment, but that's only 100km :D

Will look at the wearing too...

These look pretty nice, but I love my Shinko duals. It would have to be awesome to get me to switch.

Front looks wrongly mounted - if using tractor tread as example the seeping should fall backward to channel mud out the side not channel it to the centre of the tyre.

The rear looks diabolical to be honest. Almost nothing stopping sideways motion :)

    Oh wow I'm wrong.

It just seems arse about to draw mud to centre.

I wonder if you mounted the other way how it would work? For muddier riding I would def reverse the front for current and try it. Otherwise it must be average in the mud?

Ps those trails look awesome!! Is that some late season snow melt causing the mud?

I believe there might be some difference in the design philosophy between a 35km/h tractor and a 160km/h motorcycle.

As mentioned earlier in this topic, front tyres with directional tread almost always face the "wrong" way to provide traction under braking on wet roads. Remember, this is not an offroad-only tyre, it's for highway use too.

There absolutely nothing wrong with your English. You would not want to see most members attempts at posting in Swiss.:lol3 Thanks for taking the time to post these pictures.
