I run the fumoto valve installed at the tank. My hose is just to direct the oil out to a container. After an oil change I go back after a couple days for all the residue to drain into the skid pan. A quick spray with brake cleaner and I'm done.

    Sent from outside my mind.

I recently picked up a 2009 Erzberg edition SE !
Fixes/tweaking didnt all happen in one day, but prior to taking her out for my first ride I:

    - pulled/sent suspension to Riders Edge, as it had been a while since they had been serviced, and one of the seals was leaking.
    - installed Lakemonster's skid plate (very nice !), and soon his RR relocator kit.
    - re-greased steering head, wheel bearings
    - went over her with a fine tooth comb

She's now back together - and I'm excited to take her for a whirl !

    Hey Monkey,

    This particular road is here

We didn't explore enough, but I think the area offers a lot of potential.

As far as getting there, we unfortunately slabbed it the entire way (15-215-395). I imagine there are much more imaginative ways to get there, but only having a weekend to get somewhere on the other side of LA often presents time restrictions.

I took a day of vacation to stay home so the cable guy could fiddle with our cable. Turns out it's a bad cable. The one inside the wall. To the big screen TV. Boo.
Went wireless. Makes the next step easier.

While all that was going on, I worked on the bike. Pulled the tanks and installed the Black Dog second fan, and a power outlet in the glovebox.
Getting the tanks back in place was a bit of a puzzle. I figured it out, but not before getting pretty tired of all the up and down rolling around on the garage floor.

No lift, I used to ride a GS Adventure so you know I'm cheaper than a KLR rider.:lol3

    Anyway, The socket:

    The second fan:

I put the fuse for the socket in this area too. Zip-tied to the frame.

Better images of the bags I installed last night, Touratech Zega Pro 31L. The top box and rack are on order as well but the rack was taking a bit so they will send them together when the rack shows up.

re-worked the forks. new springs and valving. Don at ZR1 suspension has always done me good, plus he lives 10 mins from my home. if i don't like it or want some changes, i just take them back. no problems at all.

then topped it off with a racing stripe. wanted to do it in reflective tape but couldn't get it to work due to the curve of the fender. ended up just taping it off and shooting some paint and clear coat. looks pretty good if you ask me.

can't wait to get it all put back together and run it!

Installed 2" Rox Risers: a bit finnicky with the cable lengths, but eventually got it all to work nicely. My back is much happier now! :clap

got it put back together. took a quick spin and things definitely feel more plush and not so harsh on the top. will have to get it out in the dez and see about the bottoming though. that was my biggest complaint. i could ride the bike faster than it could handle, hopefully this solves that problem.

also cleaned the garage, but that's not really that exciting.... :D

Rode it to the pack & ship store, shipped the OEM end can off the 1150, filled the tanks with fuel and rode home.

    Only did two wheelies.

    OK, three.:rofl

This screen should be coming out soon...

This is the -5" version currently referred to as the Shorty.

This was my first experience with the Shorty. I felt it was slightly more turbulent then my -2.5 version at speeds above 65mph, but slightly less turbulent below 65 mph until about 35mph where wind isn't noticable on any of the screens. People love the shorty and I can see why.

I'm told Moose will offer the -2.5 in the translucent blue and also translucent orange like the -2.5 smoke they've made here.

I do combine my current -2.5 screen with a SAENG wind deflector trim that also "helps" reduce ( not eliminate) buffeting. I'm really happy with this set up for me (5'11" and high waisted). And sleeker side mirrors do make an improvement as well. You can get the ones like mine from CJDesigns which don't vibrate at higher speeds.

I still love to lean into my screen at high speed and also peer through it as a sightline. (Call me an old cafe racer at heart, or a neanderthal... either would apply at times I suppose).

And the blue tint really works for me, clearer then the darker stock smoke, very pleasureable to view through on longer rides. Easy on the eyes. And slightly more vis through it at night.

I've had no problem with the fit of the Moose screens although I've read some others complaints in threads. I simply install them from the top down and use the allen wrench to line up the opening before setting the screw in place. And the shields align pretty easily for me.

Just another of many observations in screen futility.
