The USFS has delayed opening a good portion of roads that were slated to open 4/1. I would check with them if you are headed out this weekend.

Last weekend I rode the section-with several buddies-dropping down off Walker Mtn-going east. This is off US-52 and near I-77, just north of Wytheville and south of Bland, VA.

Apparently the winter's snow and ice was hard on the small pines and they are down on the trail or leaning into the trail. It is passable, but is a challenging section.

Also, Hogback Ridge section-the water holes were full and the surface very slippery-but huge fun!

Big Walker was super narrow and overgrown when I rode it in the summer - glad to hear yall were able to pass it. Hogback was one of my favorites as well.

What size bike were you on? Glad to hear folks are out riding.

I am going to add a bunch of alternative routes to the BRT this spring.

I was riding my WR250R, but others were on WR250Rs, KLX250, XT250, DR350s, DR650s, KLR650, H440, H650, KTM990.

The KTM990 rider went home before riding the east section, but have ridden it too!

Nice - good cross section of bikes. I have seen some riders on 990's that make it look like a 250 2 stroke
