According to ADV rules, I'm not permitted to post Ken's contact information, but, it can be found in this blog promoting his seminar, about 2/3rds the way down:

The guidelines are nothing more than how most of us split lanes anyway.

    From the article:
"The Office of Administrative Law sided with Mandler, noting that CHP Commissioner J. A. Farrow certified that his department would not "issue, use, enforce, or attempt to enforce the public education information." The OAL determined that posting the guidelines on the website was "issuing" them."

So by this logic, the CHP needs to remove all safety information and videos that do not enforce specific laws from their website.

Why does this not surprise me...

"Kenneth Mandler, a longtime state employee who now conducts training sessions on how to get a state job..."

    What a fucking tool.

They have those signs along the hiway that light up when there's a missing child or whatever. If they would simply put on them "Lane splitting is legal"

It would be more then most cage drivers know now.

Also "Killing motorcylists may result in a fine" would be good.

This issue has been getting some traction in the media this week.

There is a poll up on the San Francisco site SFGATE that everyone should go do right now. We're taking a beating in the poll. I'm not sure how long the poll will be up.

Here are a few media links.. The comments sections are killing me..

Local San Francisco News program on TV did a piece.

Yahoo with Video - https://screen.yahoo.com/chp-lane-splitting-guidelines-taken-055017749.html - This video is pretty lame because they totally botched it and didn't get the guidelines correct when they said you shouldn't split when traffic is moving less than 30mph..
