Had a great time at the VBR meeting many new ADV people and riding new 'to me' roads and swimming in Superior. The highlight for me was watching the trials on Saturday. Amazing skills those guys and gals have. As was said we had a very hot ride from Duluth to T-Bay with the cool spots along Superior a welcome bit of relief. Nice of NorthRider to ride down and escort us back into Canada. Great to see you Feliz. I got an early start today from the camp ground leaving Mr & Mrs BackRoader still snoozing. Ran into a lot of fog west of T-Bay for about 70km but the temps were around 18 so it was good. Once the fog burnt off the heat came back. 30c when I got to the cottage. Looking forward to the next VBR.
Wish I could've been there...still not in the mood for any kind of distance on the KLR yet though. Was up to 34c again today and very, very damp :huh
Camp Canada, Thanks guys for setting this up!!! Night view Trails Dr Cool in da bar, thanks to whomever took this pic, I was getting full, lol
Ha ha that was me, notice how I framed the gals as being sufficiently bored to be "vbrally tested" Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
Ya, I guess I mighta realized this as I stoled it from your VBR post but im a bottle of wine in from my return home and need some sleep.....nights shift tomorrow, back to reality..........till fall colours, yea
Time to start clearing stuff I am not using. (I also listed my Klim Latitude riding gear on the Canadian Flea Market http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=549301&page=3) I have a couple of Heideneau Scout K60 M&S tires for sale. Cost to much to ship so selling "local" The rear is a 150-70-17 and is from my F800GS. I bought the tire in Vancouver past year and it has the return trip km on them (3000-3500?). The last tire i had like this i was able to get 20000k out of and that included Alaska so I would say there is a lot of time left on this tire. They are currently list at $234 at dualsport, and is about 25% used so how about $150 no tax no levy no shipping The front is a 90-90 21 that is brand new and never been installed. They go for $115 new at DualSport, how about $100 no tax no levy no shipping I can deliver to Winnipeg on Sept 8 or Thunder bay this Saturday. Cross posted to the Winnipeg page Don't be afraid to make an offer Here is the tread remaining on the rear (the one behind it is NOT the new one.)
Has anyone else noticed irritating advertising popups on this site all of a sudden? (Try going to "Shiny Things" for instance)
I had popups enabled for this site, so my PM's would just come up. I'll re-enable the popup blocker in Firefox.
If you use Apple, you don't want to talk me about them. I've had more problems with those piles of junk than ANY PC I've ever owned. I hate that pile of crap Ipad so much, I went out yesterday and bought a Nexus tablet, because it actually works!
Just completed a ride report with Ron. It involved an overnight trip to Dryden and back to Thunder Bay. Ron took his CBR125R and I took my CBR150R. Had lots of fun. Even sampled a 1987 Ninja 250 on the trip. You can read all about it here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=914838 Here are some photos to whet your small displacement bike appetite. Getting the bike ready for my next little adventure. I'll be solo, need to be able stop at random for pics, and despite the bigger bike this time, much of the ride will be at low speeds.
Can you just imagine how fast you would be on a S90 instead of a C90. Would leave those big GS bikes wallowing in mud.
Now this is a around the world and back bike. Just look at that comfy seat. Horse power oozing out of l those
