seller: nah man, it's been stored dry, etc etc etc - just clean it up and it'll run.. me (sarcasm included): yeah, sure, i bet. ..
hah, right. it split really easy aside from the moron who decided to fill the entire ignition side crank end with red loctite. bearing, seals, etc., ordered. i actually have the expensive bearing around from another project. gotta press apart the crank to have a look see, i would assume a rod kit is in order. big end bearing and pin are probably toast, and it was missing small end bearing... they cost almost what a rod kit costs.
What was he storing in the crank.... battery acid? On the brighter side, look how purdy that tranny is.
yeah, i thought the same thing, tranny looks great with no issues (it sure did look pretty compared to the crank). so i bought: con rod, bearings, rm370 piston/pin/bearing/rings, and some seals and gaskets. oh and a set of points/condenser just for the hell of it. just waiting for parts to arrive. $300 or so in parts. that's cheaper than i expected for the whole deal - rm370 piston really made it affordable-good thing it was on std bore. dropped cylinder and crank off at my crank guy, so just waiting now. i have a 250 radial to do next. unless i decide to sell the 250.
