ThAts the box i will be using to send my CR250 forks out to be resprung revalved for the USD conversion
That looks like XR's only/Ricochet/Utah sports. Best coverage is XR's only XR650R's skid plate, will work with little mods.
I made mine from a waterproof fannypack. $30 and small enough to allow movement on the bike offroad. Mike B
I don't find that it gets in the way standing. But then I don't ride standing very much. It's no wider than the front of the seat that goes up the back of the tank. So I don't see why it should be a problem. I'm sure there are those that don't agree though. some links Post 1 Post 2 a review What I like best about this bag is that it has no zippers to fail. I use my tank bags a lot. A zipper failing on a trip is a pain. It doesn't really matter whether that trip is just to the corner store or across the country. That won't happen with the expedition bags. Walter
Walter, Thanks for the lInks look like what I was looking for!. How many miles do you have on your bike now?
Figured I would pull the plug today and adjust the valves. Plug really didn't want to come out of the spark plug hole. Here's why Looks like the washer didn't get seated to the plug properly . Looks like about 2mm shy. Looks like aluminum stuck to the bottom of plug. I'm guessing that aluminum boogered up the threads on the way out. Can this be heli-coiled or is it new head time? I have put 5000 miles with the plug not full seated. Would this cause any other damage to the motor? Any help from anybody is appreciated. Joe
The spark plug threads can be tapped. There is a tap that is placed in the head and brought out so all of the bits come out. The other way is to grease the plug tap and slowly tap the hole and hope all of the bits come out. The best method is to pull the head and have a machine shop repair the threads. Don't know why your threads got buggered. I Never Seize the plug and when it hits bottom give it a bit more love and call it good.
I know I needed about seven feet in my old cargo vans for xrl or DR650, would have a few inches to spare on the stock taillights. I rigged my enclosed cargo trailer/camper chocks the same way. I had to move one of the chocks for a buddy's drz400. He brings me whiskey and pie, so I can't bitch.
Andy, your memory doesn't serve you well or they've had some serious inflation over at Col rite–$115 bucks for a rattle can of color, clear and primer. OUCH! What is one going to do?
I wonder if one could, after tapping, take small flexible hose and plumb it to a vacuum and ? Not ideal, but it might work.
Ouch! The plug would get too hot like that from a lack of head contact for heat-sink while also taxing your ignition from poor grounding. Combustion gases would have destroyed the threads while dropping your compression and performance. Ihate to say it but, if you had that much trouble properly installing the plug, don't skip on the repair. Take it to a Pro and fix it right. ;-)
I have been searching for info on a pumper carb for the XRL. I have found 2 kits, a mikuni from XRs only and an FCR from sudco. I would appreciate ANY info on these 2 kits. I tried searching here and didn't get very far.
Get your FCR carb here: http://www.pjmotorsports.com/keihin-fcr-carburetors.html#fcr carbs They are a Sudco reseller but for less than Sudco.
I have a set of OE wheels that need a new home. Rotors, sprocket and Pirelli MT21's. I would post a pic but the camera's battery is charging. $275.00 and you pay the shipping.
