I think you'll find that everyone went every which way. Some became concerned of showing a 'naked butt' in the newly uncovered area behind a solo and did other stuff :evil

I cut down a worn out king/queen seat pan and ended with this.

At my age I don't often just break out in a smile at a photo (women's photos notwithstanding) but I sure did at that one - what a cool set up!

I kinda like the denfield police seats. I've never sat on one, so can't comment on the comfort, but I like the fact that they're a little longer than most solo seats and give you a little more scooting around space. Kind of a solo-and-a-half seat.

I've got one on my 90/6. I love it. Touring seat par excellence. They definitely are a solo-and-a-bit seat allowing a bit of a shift around on long rides. Compared to the solo seat on my G/S, the denfield seat is more a a seat you sit in, rather than something you straddle over- but being nice and flat you can slide around a bit and don't get locked into position or anything.
Comfortable and look just right to my eyes.

I wish someone made a foam moulding for it though. I re-foamed mine myself and although it is comfortable still for me, it is pretty clapped out already- I used foam that just isn't going to last too long. Next time I might try buying one of the G/S single seat foam mouldings from siebenrock, and then trim it and add on to it in order to get it to fit the denfield pan and cover.

There are a number of European sites doinmg seats and racks for airheads. Motobins and 2 cos. in Germany whose name I can't recall. But I bought a single seat & frame from one of them and they were both cheaper than Siebenbock. Sorry I can't help more.

i made my own seat pan and seat. Can find a build thread on it here in this very forum. So far I have about 600 miles on the seat and I'm still happy with it. Leaves me about 6 inches of scoot back room. My ass gets a bit sore after about the 2 hr mark, but that's about normal.

    Have fun

Here's one I had on my naked /7. I thoroughly enjoyed that bike ... and I still have the seat. I just sold the bike to a guy in Hoboken, NJ. He got a great deal ...

This seat is off a HD Sportster, a work in progress, it's currently attached with a gate hinge and flips up toward the back..:puke1 I need to fab a slick latching system and a better hinge/sub frame interface.

This is also a Sportster seat. The original solo mounts were broken and I need to weld up some new ones. A fellow NM /2 owner/inmate donated his old Steiger solo seat so I have something to work with.

This is a Harley seat too, adapted from an XR750 mould. I don't like sitting where BMW tells me to, I can move around much more with this seat.
