So if I have the regular squadron is that the 3600 lumen or is it 4300??

I am looking on the site but they seem the same I know the optics are different...

And the xl is supposed to be brighter??? Man, the regular is crazy bright...

I love mine on my husky but I just put a deposit on a KTM 500 and the XL sounds like the ticket

    Does the 2014 Squadron XL fit a 2013 KTM 690 R?

The 2013 seems to fall in limbo somewhere. Definately listed as not included in the 2008-2013 description.

If not, what does fit my model?

Unfortunately, due to a clearance issue the Squadron XL nor the Squadron with fit with the kits we sell. We had one customer who made mods to his kit and biek to make it fit but I would not advise to go that route. You can however use the Squadron Adventure Bike kit, Which would run two regular Squadrons on your bike. And for your information, if your interested in that product I can offer you a ADV Rider discount. Hope that information helps. Thanks for the question

    Greetings!

I've spent most of my last three days of my free time reading through this thread! Wow, a lot of great information here. I'm completely sold on getting a Squadron for my 2009 KTM 450 XC-W. I have absolutely no doubt that the regular squadron will provide the light I'm looking for but I have a few quick questions that I can't seem to find an answer for.

I've called BD (couldn't get a hold of mike, spoke to a sales rep) and it looks as if there are the correct parts for me:

    Dimmer Box Part #66-0088
    DC Conversion Kit Part #61-1040
    Squadron Part #497051

I plan to buy just the Squadron light fixture and mount it in an Orange OEM KTM headlight plate/number plate. Has anyone had any success going this route? I'm trying to look as stock as possible.

I'll need to float my ground. I'm confident with wiring and soldering but haven't found any solid info on performing the task on my bike. Does anyone know of any good links and/or How-To Write ups?

Currently my bike does not have a headlight or taillight (stock). If I add a Squadron and make the AC to DC conversion with the stator, will I still be able to mount and use a stock KTM taillight?

Lastly, the new dimmer box (Part *66-0088) looks much better than the original one with the remote but does not include a switch. Could anyone provide some insight on a quality switch?

Thank you all, and keep up the great work! Can't wait to be seen from space :rofl

    Hi

The DC regulator for your bike would be part #12-2004. Also if you use our wiring harness #61-1049 to get you from the battery to the light it will also have tail light leads that you can use your stock KTM tail light with.

The new dimmer is actually made by Skene Designs haven't heard any complaints with it works great. Allows the light to be adjusted in 10% and remembers where you set it as.

We also have a pdf on how to ground float your stator here

Let me know if you have any questions
    Thanks

Thanks Mike!! I will be ordering everything soon :D

A few weeks ago a took a short ride (2-3 miles with a hillclimb or two) in the mountains of southern ohio with an cheap-o led headlamp and a led flashlight black taped to my handlebars. I think the squadron setup will be an improvement :lol3

I'll be graduating college here in the next few weeks so hopefully I'll have the time to do a full write up on my install w/ pictures to help others out!
