My wife doesn't mind the pasenger seat, the driver seat is worse.
get her a gel pad if she complains.
Remeber she ain't there 80% of the time. And if you don't buy the bike let us know, I have a buddy that wants one.

    cheers

Anybody try putting a bigger piston (like one from a vulcan nomad) in their R? I'm getting a spare engine for my R and I'm thinking about boring out the cylinder and getting it replated with Nikasil.

I put the Vulcan piston in my C engine. Worked out great.

I will tell you that I've ridden an R with fresh valves and the two bikes are about the same. The R might have felt a little quicker due to less weight. My take is that the higher compression on the R engine is a good thing. What I'm trying to say is you won't gain anything putting an overbore with lower compression into the R. If you were to do it anyhow, find a steel lined jug rather than attempting a replate.

but... would it be possible to just buy the C sleeve, bore out the R jug and slip in the C sleeve?

    Not...

The steel sleeve is fused to the aluminum cylinder. You can simply swap jugs. They are fully interchangeable. Again, I don't see the point unless the R has had ring failure or some other problem requiring work.

Got the swing arm back, Hi gloss black powder coat. Also had some other parts coated as well. Upper and lower tree's, rear rack side plates and a bunch of mounts. The color is antique bronze metalic. I was shooting for the same color as the new klx250. This color is much darker and sparkles. I held it up close the the 250 and this color is much nicer. The service boys at my store were mighty impressed with the quality of paint. Its too bad my camera is a pos for close up stuff.

I cant find any cool mirrors that arn't for cruisers. The stock front brake caliper and disc are half decent. This radial pull master will spice things up. One finger stoppies anyone?

It's looking good Dave. I'd love to powdercoat my frame blue. The turquoise is a bit much.
