Drac, you and I should go riding before you leave LI. I'm in Sag Harbor. (And I too hope to leave the Isle of Long sooner than later . . . maybe for a nice quiet mountainside somewhere in Central America.)

I am up for a ride, maybe even this weekend. It may have to be a short/local one but I would definitely enjoy meeting. It's been though on my time lately juggling a demanding job, a home sale, buying another out of state while handling logistics for the move. But I think am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, this thread has fueled me tremendously to get off my a** and do it :D

Good stuff J Downs. I see Richard's texasadventure.net sticker left and down from ADV at the OARK window.

Richard puts on great (mostly free, with great ride guide) dual sport rides around Big Bend, Junction, 500 miles of Texas, scenic Arkansas, and we used to all do a phenomenal northern Mexico ride (my write up is my sig). I see a few familiar faces in the piggy crowd from Texas ADV :thumb

And how is it that while you are "back in the USA" to "save up for the next adventure" you are riding even more than me? :D:D:D:D:D I think we all need to make a Paypal donation to get you back in South America ASAP.

    That's really cool :deal
Once I get settled I'll PM and hope to meet.
I know will enjoy exploring the area's roads less traveled.
Just by looking at the map and not seeing bridges and tunnels in all directions (usually backed up with plenty traffic) like I have now to escape the island I have been living in, looks great.

Been having a fun time in Oklahoma this past week. Lots of dramatic weather wiith some serious tornado damage to Moore down the road 100 miles. Returned from the SLAP rally on Sunday. I've been staying in Tulsa for the past couple days with ADVriders Tomski and Yanoush, while I do some remodeling over at Throttlemeisters brothers house.

Really nice bunch of ADVriders here in Tulsa. Went to the Tuesday Tulsa Pub Crawl last night. They organized the SLAP rally this year and did an excellent job.

I turned sixty today and when I came back from work Tomski surprised me with this:

Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. MmmmmMmmmm good!

    Here is Tomski chowing down:

He recently bought this RT airhead at a garage sale for 500 bucks. You don't run across those kinds of screaming deals very often:

His DR is sitting next to the RT under the coat of SLAP rally mud.

Had a great day today. Beautiful evening tonight sitting in the back yard at Tomski's Northern Tulsa oasis watching the fire and dreaming about the next ride:

Not sure when I'm leaving Tulsa. It's nice down here in tornado alley.

    Hasta Luego,

    Happy Birthday John! :clap

May your travels take you to the horizons and beyond for at least another 60 years!
And when you will look back at the years, this song seems to me a perfect fit to describe your adventures:

Went to an ADVrider BBQ last night to kick off the Memorial Day weekend. Pictured left to right are Newner, Tomski, Jumpjet at the grill, and RG. Not pictured are me, Tim and Yanoush:

Good eats. T-bone steak hiding under the corn on the cob, homemade bacon and beans along with baked potatoes:

    Good food, good company.
