Not exactly. If someone is cost conscious they're not spending $31K on a bike - period.

Virago as one of the best traveling bikes ever, that's a stance not many people take. Cruisers dont lean much, weigh lots, and are meant to profile around on in town usually. The 1 Virago I rode was about all revved out at 65mph,didnt have the gearing to on the hiway.

Jesus, it really is all about you isn't it. I'm curious - Is there anyone left here who isn't completely worn out on this guy yet? Do we really have to be subjected to posts comparing a dumbass Vulcan 750 to something as cool, potentially unique, and low production as a MOTUS?

Good, then you have no business here. Don't go away mad, just go away.

Someone in another thread about Indian motorcycles mentioned how right now Motus is actually the closest spiritual successor to the original Indian: no-nonsense, performance oriented, innovative American motorcycle. I think there is a lot of truth in that which made me think: wouldn't it be nice if Polaris bought Motus, rebadged it as Indian and use their strength to put the bikes into larger volume production? Sure they'd still charge a premium for that Indian badge, but it could be a bit cheaper than it is now and support and backing of the major player would make the whole deal easier to swallow for many people...
Yeah I know it's not going to happen... just a nice dream I had, that's all.

Actually the new 8V Norge has an over head cam, but it still has push rods technically, they are about 15mm long

Technically, it's "cam in head", not OHC.

    :deal

Yes, it is a similar design to the early oilheads - they used short pushrods to keep the heads from becoming too large. They were cam in head designs as well.

I was responding to a post that said there were no pushrod sport tourers out there. The Norge has pushrods, even if they are short (as did the R1100, R1150 and hexhead R1200's).

Personally, I wouldn't buy or not buy a bike because of how the valves are operated.

The other term is "hi cam".

And, despite the "OHC" in the valve covers of the Daytonas, they were cam in head, also...

Now that the Mayan calender nonsense has passed, I guess we can look forward to the introduction of the new Motus before the end of the year.

I'm not saying I'm buying one.

That of course has nothing to to with the fact that you are comparing a state of the art, low production motorcycle with top shelf components to a piece of shit Vulcan that hasn't changed since 1985. You are a blohard idiot of biblical proportions.
