While I cannot make it to PC for start I might be able to meet you guys in Da Springs for lunch and hang some on the way back.

Just a thought. I went out yesterday and boy is it hot.

What time for lunch. About 11 ish?

    Thanks

    Vico,
    I'd say 1130ish, +/- 15 minutes....

Man, I hate this time of the year in the Panhandle, absolutely miserable weather for riding...hot, humid, and usually a thunderstorm between 2-4!

Hey Vico, I'm "the navigator" Chuck spoke of... :D

Ride was good - BBQ was good. We did just over 200 miles but man was it hot! I was reminded why our rides are fewer during the summer months.

Keep an eye out for the next one...

I've often wondered if I was the only one out there who treated the summer months in Florida as "winter" and rode a bit less due to the heat.

Yes it was hot but ERdok keep the air flowing through those jackets with a spirited pace most of the time as there was some speed bumps along the way.

OK so what happened when you cut the camera? Did you get to have a chat with a LEO?

Yep! Winter is my favorite time to ride. I cant do the heat anymore. Its just not fun. I cut way back during the summer.

So, riding in the morning, lunch, and home by 1400ish. The heat is still a little much!

    r//Chuck

    Hope everyone's having a great 4th!

I'm planning a ride for this Tuesday morning - route still to be determined - will plan to head home just after lunch to beat the heat.

Meet at Southport Tom Thumb @ 0800.

    Rick

P.S. Looking forward to seeing the new ride Wyn - hope you can make it...

    Vico,
I grew up on the coal banks, red dirt, and gravel roads of middle Tennessee. My entire family tree still resides in the same area. It's been really nice the past week, my dad even mentioned mid-fifties and jackets on 4th of July evening, can you imagine? It's starting to heat up again. However, I'm sure the morning to lunch time frame will be exceptional regardless and the rest of the day will surely be better than our weather! Enjoy the ride and time away!

    Hey All,
FYI, a few of us are planning on attending and will likely ride up to Oxford, AL on the Wednesday of the week and arrive Thursday by dinner. A twisty day ride Friday and Saturday, and a straight shot home Sunday. The ride up Wednesday and Thursday will be via the long way! If anyone is interested, make reservations and let us know to arrange a rally point (usually US 20/HWY 77). If the hotel is full, there are adjacent hotels, I can let you know of one a fellow local rider will be staying in.

Posting trip details for Rick, in this thread Rick is ERDoK!

    Hey guys,

The fall trip is rapidly approaching so I've started planning the routes and decided to try something a little different this time. Instead of the usual ride up to Cheaha Mountain/Oxford, AL, I've planned a route to Canton, GA, (avoiding Atlanta) that will get us right at the good stuff on Wednesday the 1st. We'll be able to do some of north Georgia's great roads on Thursday's ride to Maggie Valley. We lose an hour going to GA so I planned an earlier departure for Wed AM.

    Itinerary:

0700, Wed Oct 1, meet at Hwy 231/390 Tom Thumb/Citgo/Burger King, (NOT SOUTHPORT)

1 Oct: Home > Canton, GA (mix of Hwy & back roads)
2 Oct: Canton, GA > Maggie Valley, NC (scenic & twisty)
3 Oct: Scenic & twisty day ride...
4 Oct: Scenic & twisty day ride...
5 Oct: Maggie Valley > Home (slabbin' it...)

Wed 1 Oct hotel info: http://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/canton/catga/hoteldetail

Thurs - Sat (host) hotel info: http://jonathancreekinn.com/

(there are several other hotels in close proximity to Jonathan Creek Inn if it's booked)

If you want me to forward you the routes (word document), let me know and I'll do so when I have them completed.

    53 days and counting...

    UPDATE:

Looks like 4 of us riding up Wed from PC (Rick, Chuck, Wyn, Tim) with Mike, Ron & probably Dick Williams meeting up/riding with us in NC.

See ya in a few days...
