Just wanted to throw some more kudos out to Southmt (Bob C.) for all his work on the new kiosk, all the people that donated to the project and Gordy for the original idea. The new San Ysidro kiosk looks great and has a ton of great information for anyone visiting the San Ysidro Trials Area. Thanks for the great work Bob!

For those that couldn't see it until the Hassler's moved their RV :-) here are a few pics:

The kiosk IS awesome! Thanks a million Bob!

All I did was raise some money and took my chainsaw to the old one. :rofl

Also, thanks again to all who donated money for this cause. :thumb

Plus one on the great job by Bob. Took a lot of thought to come up with the descriptions of the club, history, etc. Very nicely done!:clap

as Brewtus' pics show, Section 4 had awesome photo ops: chasm jumping, rock jumping, superENDUROcross, and DUCK! (aka watch out for that low branch at the SP/SX exit! Sorry, no pic of this one).

We'll start with the chasm jumping. There were two in this section, one with bodily severe penalty for missing it, and one with just skidplate severe penalty.

here's the former, with our estimable Captain Nemo flawlessly executing.

although some did lose their heads...
oh well, perhaps that was photographer error...:shog It's hard to take pics when you're looking at the rider's feet instead of the lens!

    More chasm pics.

Rock jumping, of many sizes and styles.
Winslow (17!) was the first one through the section to do this stylin'...

That's what I was thinking! I was looking for the BIG chasm jump in brewtus and Mrs. Bitters section then remembered you guys were scoring #3!

Awesome photos Laurie! :clap Best coverage of a single section yet!! Interesting to see how different riders rode the same obstacles; wheel placement, body positioning, etc. Very cool! :thumb

Doggone if this trials stuff doesn't look like fun. I'm worried about Sipapu, there seem to be a lot of people lurking around offering rides on trials bikes. "the first one is free", isn't that the marketing strategy for chemical dependance?:clap

:shog aw, thanks NMTB! Yes, section 3 :bluduh had lots of choices (all of them bad, some riders mentioned). For example, each of the three Masters rode completely different lines over the chasms, not even close to each other's lines.

and ain't it amazing how no one ever put their foot down?? :lol3

    cheers

Well the 2 day at sipapu was a great event. Our Semi - Ex class was huge with Mike, Chris J and Mitch riding. Hopefully someone took a picture of the board. Chris J. took the overall, Mitch second. Our local rider, Matt Webb won sunday, but had trouble on saturday.
Thanks for everyone making the trip!!

Great time!! I actually came out of a sad-assed quasi-retirement to ride on NMTrailboss' old 315R to ride with friends old and new. The borrowed Montesa had not really run in a year, and had a fork seal that had leaked on the front brake for longer than that. Who cares, it's a running Montesa and I had a BLAST (no front brake not withstanding). :clap

An idea of how bad the front brake was -
