Man the trestle looks fun. I rode across one of the short ones like that on the beltline before it became the Hipster Highway™. Great fun roosting through town!

Flux & SpeedyR & I got out on Sunday for about a half day around Nimblewell & Amicolola. Aside from the first bit being a damn mud bog (vids to follow) and a touch of iced over puddles it was nice. We nearly got our heads taken off on a fast stretch in Dawson forest, though, after (fast straight section after going through the stream.) :eek1 We'd slowed up at that point and I'm glad or we'd be a hood ornament on a Nissan Titan.

Got to see some really cool new stuff I hadn't been on (thanks!) and try out Speedy's new single-use Pirellis. (So *that's* what that was flying off his bike on 400. Knobz. :nod)

Can't wait for it to warm up a bit, and to get some new rubber on the 690--yo Andrew! :deal

Yeah, I've been lazy too. Spent last weekend in SC, then came down with the crud that's been going around. I've got a bunch of bike maintenance to do before March.

Buy a copy of the Georgia and Alabama Atlas & Gazetteer (spelling?).

These are detail map books which show the local county and the local unpaved roads. They also show the Nat'l Forest and WMA areas.

Hook a few together and go have an adventure!

That is how 90% of the great rides are put together!

Yup it was fun, Jeff. Thanks again for lunch. Will work for food lol.

Day started out innocently enough then I got a FB message from Jeff (SpeedyR) that he and Fried Duck were gonna be up this way and wanted to see some good stuff. :ear

SpeedyR throws a little roost. The First Section was SLOPPY. Sloppier than it has been in a LONG time. There is almost no way around the big mudhole after you cross the creek. Fried Duck said I was going forward but sideways much of the time :deal

Why does this always happen? :evil

Fried Duck gives it a go.

Kinda disappointed in my pics as they don't show the depth of those ruts, they could easily swallow a bike whole.

Appears it hit in the 140/75 area. Reports say it leveled at least one house and overturned numerous vehicles, including a big rig.

The news is showing that it hit the Daki plant, which produces parts for heavy equipment. It looks like it tore through the plant and parking lot.
