I KNOW that a lot of you have other passions. And there is NO such thing as a cheap hobby anymore.

i completely understand, i havent left shit chat in 4 years. Downgraded to one DD XJ and started an ever growing motorcycle stable. Its way easier and affordable to take off camping/fishing on the bike then loading up the tow rig, trailer & rig, fueling everything up, breaking a bunch of parts and tearing up expensive rubber. I can ride for 3-4 days for less money than one day of wheeling cost me.

Some days i miss it, most days I am too busy laughing in my helmet to even remember it.

Let me know if you ever want to come out east for some DS riding, plenty of awesome riding in WV/Oh/KY/TN/NC.

Other expensive hobbies creep in, snowboards, mountain bikes, hiking gear, fishing gear, "cough cough" golf, guns, etc... At least the exspensive fishing and backpacking stuff can be used on the bikes.

I have a ton of project cars. It sucks. :lol3

1990 Subaru Sambar (in the process of swapping a Subaru EJ22 boxer and VW bus trans into this)

1998 Dodge Ram (I'm pretty much done with this. I stripped off the tasteless chrome rocker panel covers and fugly decals the previous owner had applied, repainted the sides of the truck due to the massive paint damage caused by the rocker trim, then installed a 2" levelling kit, 16.5" GM motorhome wheels, and 37" military tires. Needs a few more things in the long run, but for now it's a good winter beater/hauler thing.)

1985 Merkur XR4Ti (16 valve Volvo head swap, Megasquirt EFI, Holset HX35 turbo [same one as the Dodge has,] 8.8 IRS from a Lincoln MkVIII, Mustang Cobra brakes, etc, etc, etc. This is my long-term project car... It's been draining me since 2003 and I'm nowhere near done.)

Plus the woodworking machinery, books, magazines, tools, vintage campers and several others...

My wife keeps telling me - "You do NOT need another hobby!" if I even start to get interested in anything else...

i am not f***ng stupid, but i used too. niles mi.
i used to do weight pulls with my mal..... gawd what a dog.. 99 pounds 3200 pull... he would back up and hit the harness.. never taught it to him.. he just figured it out on day while trying to pull the s10 pickup... and never stopped doing it he would get DQ for it... so weight pulls became things of the past.

Skijoring during the winter with those to lame brains.

... 13 years old now.... and still the best dog there ever was.....

    now...
