you bought nice stuff to equip your love! well done!

question: how do you find the new gel seats? is it worth the money and the change? do you recommend others to invest on replacing the seats?

I havent given it a good days test yet but first impressions are good seat is higher which suits me being tall 6ft 4in the seat is flatter I found with the original a tendancy to slip forward this seems more comfy on the butt...the heated part is very good.. 2 stage.. the only down side is the switch its just a touch type so you are not sure what setting your on till its too hot.. it lights up red/orange but you cant see it in day light

    thanks for the answer.
is funny the fact that we have the same height :D (1.93 meters)
when i order my 1190, i consider ordering the gel seats - now is clear that i will do so. Have nice rides, enjoy!

I quite like the KYM luggage. Also it appears when it is removed it doesn't look like a plumbers workshop with frames hanging off the side of the bike. This I'm sure is a function of looks vs application .

Nice setup you have what I was after but the fact that I'd be waiting for ever to get these and the issue that if you can't get the simple stuff how are they going to sort the hard stuff made me opt for the GS.

Must say though the 1190 is a close second for me.

A couple of questions if I may please?

    1. Will a fullface helmet fit in the topbox?
    2. Could you possibly take a pic of the inside of the RH pannier?

    Thanks.

    I don't have them. That's 6732cash's bike.

Interested to hear whether they are worth buying though.

You can fit a full face helmet on left and top there will be still space for a jacket or pants& jacket with armors.

They are massive ! And they are waterproof .more importantly they are not solidly attached to the bike like the aluminiums they have got a little play which make them better at speed .

Helmet would only fit side ways air vent was too high but it is a large size....note provision for socket in top right corner.....right hand box is a silly shape and you have to be selective as to what you pack into it....to overcome this they sell you a silly shaped bag to fit in it:D:D

Hey, does anyone here used to own a 800GS ??
I am thinking in getting the new 2014 800 GSA. Looks good and also should be more fun offroad than my R1200GSA. Love it but it is a hand full.
The only reason why I did not get on Yesterday is because I am afraid of want to kick myself for not waiting until the arrival of the ktm1190R in the US.
I appreciate any input and comparison from those who owned or have ridden the 800GS or 800GSA
    Thanks !!!

    Many thanks.

Are the sides of the top box hollow? Can you store things between the side and the opening?

Wait. F800GS is a great bike but needs better suspension. You have to spend a lot of money to make it more suitable for offroad and more comfortable and suitable for high speeds. I stopped doing long trips on mine after I bought a R1100GS, and I suspect I might end up selling it after I get a 1190R.

So far everything indicates this bike will be better in both scenarios.
