I suppose it was going to happen eventually. At least it was the brake and not the clutch! Time to upgrade. Anyone replace their levers with the break-away type yet? Fitment? Other suggestions?

Once you fit decent handguards you don't need special levers. Any decent pattern part http://www.triumph-online.co.uk/tiger-800--800xc-brake-lever-span-adjustable-14208-p.asp will do.

Here's my bike a few days before I sold it. The buyer didn't want all the accessories so if anyone is interested in any of the items left, I have a thread in the fleamarket.

Funny I feel it sits right between the high/low position. When I put the stock seat on I dont feel too much lower but more flat with the Saddlemen. I would however suggest they make it a two-piece as well.

That seat does look comfy, but won't that channel collect water in the rain? Maybe OK in the summer to have the boys soaking in the tub, but when it's cooler out, I dunno....

After seeing these guards, I found them on sale at Motorcycle Superstore.
Right out of the box, they appear as if they will never work, but a little reshaping in a vice, and they fit great.

I removed the black, stock hand guard bracket and did not have to use the socket/spacer.

and as a bonus the guards come with summer and winter plastics.



I may loosen the banjo bolt and turn it up a bit...

My ol' lady loves ours. She hates that my seat is heated. Saddlemen should offer this on such a nice machine

There's a thread about it on the T800 forum somewhere. One respondent reckons his missus prefers the T800 to their previous ST1300.

I was referring to the Saddlemen seat. No doubt the T800 has plenty of room two up. My wife prefers it over the Sprint ST for sure.

Just installed these. They are black now instead of silver. Very sturdy, remind me of my motavation sliders on my 1000rr.

The first thing I did was mod the passenger seat. Removed the crappy gray cover (which breaks down in the sun and gets sticky) then used a grinder to dish out the middle of the seat while leaving the front full-height so as to reduce the slope into the pilot. Next glued on a sheet of 1" mid-density foam and shaped it, then applied a new cover. Together with top-box backrest it's nice and comfy now.

If we were to do a LOT of touring I'd have a custom seat made. Or make one.

The bike does great performance-wise with full weight. Just a non-issue.

Couldn't agree more.

Back from 3,000km's over 2 weeks with the wife as passenger on the stock seat.

Nil issues performance or handling wise with gear and passenger.

Very pleased with the big cat as a 2-up tourer.
