Where's the smilie for stunned silence...?

For someone from the congested NorthEast US, open, deserted spaces like that are something we've no chance to experience locally.

I believe Striking Viking visited the same resort that you guys did, with similar impressions. :thumbup

    Sage insight. :nod

    Thanks for the incredible report.

Hi, I'm sure you know by now, but I understand that the Touratech bash plate works quite well. Stephen King at Touratech SA in Pretoria is your man. Here I witnessed him selling 2 without too much arguing....

When I spotted this photo, a lot of old memories came back.. in 96, i was a member of mapping expedition to this part of namibia and that water pump supplied our 28 strong camp for 6 weeks of work in the area.. if i am right, its not far from Doros crater...

Having been born in Rhodesia and travelled in africa, I am a firm believer, no one can ever spend serious time in africa and return the same person, if they do, they never saw africa..

Namibia has some seriously nice geology (hence by username), and for your interest, some of those lovely banded formations in the goerges of the huab river are some of the oldest rocks in the world.

An amazing place, never biked it, but certainly will..

Thankyou for a great write up and sharing your experiences.. keep em coming.
