This morning I left early from Perote to go up to the Cofre de Perote at 4200 m ; the last 9 KM are pretty rough riding , lots of stones and sand . Pretty cold up there in the morning, several little puddles were all frozen .
But the view from up there is something else ....
I just don't get it why so few people come to the mountains of Veracruz, it is really impressive!
Thx Mike for introducing me last year to some of these amazing backroads here around :clap

    Julio,

No te conozco en persona, pero me agrada seguir el reporte de un paisano.

    Suerte y buen viaje.

You have plenty of choices on how to cross the USA, south to north. CA is seductive, so many parks and the PCH. But crowded and expensive. AZ, UT and north offers some of the best scenery in the world, empty and easy going. NM, CO, WY are perfect, dry, high altitude. I've done all your choices several times and I can't say which is the best. Get a National Parks annual pass, you'll need it.

    Sure it does!

Last weekend Suzanne and I went to El Salvador. Tried our hand at reaching the highest point in the country, El Pital. We were 2 kms short as my rear tire wouldn't catch on the loose dirt and rocks and Suz was scared as the road got REALLY steep and scary.

That place where you didn't take your REAL CAMERA? Iphone did a great job, anyway. :clap

If you find yourself in Colorado and would like a room and a beverage, please PM me. Or, you can send mail to mike-at-<my_adv_username>{my_ADV_username}.com

Assuming, of course, that you don't mind parking that fine GS in a garage with three KLRs. :rofl:huh</my_adv_username>

motojournalism : More pics will follow

    LDCMEX :pM chequeado, thx

mike : Thank you so much for taking me out to your backyard once again ! The places you have taken me too and the way you show them and all the background stories are always a highlight on my Mexico trips :clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap
The stories that you were telling us before we split up...that's a different story:eek1:eek1
And getting to meet BobLoblaw that same day made the day even more interesting

bouldergeek : Thanks for the offer , I will get back to you once that i'm further up north . My bike shared a garage with two cars for a long time , so sharing it with any bike must be an improvement :D:

Second day in Cuetzalan , one of the many Pueblos Magicos de Mexico. It is a special small town in the mountains of Puebla , with great food , nice waterfalls and interesting ruins Toltecas (Yohualichan) .
I'm staying at the Hotel Taselotzin , owned and run by a group of Nahuatl women . The rooms(320 pesos) are nice , they also have a dorm(140 pesos), beautifull gardens and save parking for the bike . http://taselotzin.blogspot.com/

Here a few pics about food from the sunday market
