Almost 10k in. Sold the BMW. Just love this bike. Slower, less power. A more leisurely mode of travel. I love this bike.

I can't remember the brand of speedo. I'll check my file and see if I can find my paperwork. I got it off of ebay. It used the stock cable. I believe a place called www.mikesxs.net also sells them. I can tell you it was a very tight fit! There is not a lot of extra room in that headlight bucket.
Hope its okey that I info here since this shocks are for the Scrambler. For sale price 390 euro, or 328 gbp, or 499 usd shipping with tracking in europa 27 gbp, 32 euro shipping 50 usd
First Hi I've been lurking around this thread long enough to decide on a Scram. Picked one up last Wednesday. So far it's living up to your posts and my expectations. It may even make me healthier. Friday I came out of the grocery to find a guy looking over the bike. "It looks great. How old is it ?" he asked. I told him it was brand new and then listened to him tell me about all the bikes he'd owned since the 60's. I don't see getting pizza rolls out of the parking lot still frozen much less home. Fresh fruits and veggies here I come. I don't want to start an argument or a theoretical discussion, but buying new reminded me of the how do you break in a new bike so ---- If you bought your Scram (or any other bike I guess) how did you ride it for the first few hundred miles and how did that work out ? Just curious.
Picked these up at a garage sale for $20 with some vetter bags: Plan is to cut off all of the unneeded brackets and build some kind of pannier brackets to keep a couple soft bags off the exhaust. I was going to buy a couple universal loops from TouraTech but they have been out of stock for a while. I remember seeing a post here where someone built some racks from scratch but I could not find it. I wonder if supporting these from a bracket under the seat and from the passenger pegs will be enough? I might also fab up a tube between the two racks to make them rigid. Might even mount a couple Pelican boxs to them on longer trips if they seem strong enough
Now you've gone and done it. Ride the bike the way you would normally. Though I do not recommend attempting a salt flat speed run. Until the bike has a few hundred miles.
Couple oil changes under 1k, vary the throttle and follow the manual on RPM's. I've done the Motoman break in on a couple of bikes but with my $10k+ bikes I tend to be tender
Did the moto man break in on most recent bike. I believe it helps in some ways, obviously rings seat well, but it also seems to have very little engine 'harmonics'. Mines a 650 Versys and there's virtually no vibrations. Maybe a little bit about 5k rpm, but that seems dependent on how hot or cold the weather is. I'm a believer. Cheers
i had a red and white scrambler when they were first re-introduced. then sold it blah blah. now i see that there is some good aftermarket support for the bike (so it seems from the pictures you guys are throwing up). 1. wondering if anyone has made a large capacity tank yet ? 2. can anyone point me to a "i rode to south america on a scrambler" ride report ? 3. i would LOVE to see a stream of pictures with dirty, dirt focused, knobby tired, highly modified scramblers.. if you guys could conjure them up. thanks .
I'm thinking about picking up one of these: http://www.ba-moto.com/store/product/ammo-boxes-brackets Also some good reading: http://www.baggersmag.com/events/1008_hrbp_the_british_american_moto_mc_invades_slab_city/
Still cant believe I got this 06 with 2300 miles on her. Ive put 1000 miles on her in two weeks and its my first bike!!!! I pulled the snorkel and really feel like I can tell the difference but there is a bit more induction noise. The AI has also been plugged but those headers are dark blue at this point. Heres a couple from the perfect riding weather weekend. Lake Ontario, Taughannock Falls, and Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. Hey if I do a baffelectomy with the AI and Snorkel off will I have to rejet??
