Cool story. Co-worker told me her son has a bike for sale. I blew her off and told her me & my friends rarely trade them due to lack of funds. Turns out Windham gave his factory Geico bike to a Marine here in Dalton (Joey Jones) who lost his legs to an IED in Afghanistan. Her son ended up buying it and it's way too wild 4 him. Anybody interested?"

That does sound like a kick ass day, but having had my ankle pinned once by the GS in the water there, no way I'd try Cashes Valley at these levels.

Maybe on a smaller bike with at least a couple of guys to help out.

Get u Forestry Svc map & pic you out a route up
the west side to Hwy 64, 68, ducktown, then back down the east side of the Mtn or vise versa

Water was way too high for the GS's...would have been above the snorkel! Plus the flow would have loved that big old motor and frame to push sideways!

Oh thank God. This thread had gone to hell lately, all this talk about bikes and riding. Now we can focus on what's really important... Ran into a couple of Eastern Garter snakes like this one camping at Sandy Bottoms last weekend.

Any Dogs heading up for this?

Coming up the middle of May to ride some forest service roads in north Georgia and western NC.
Buddy leading the ride has sketchy knowledge of these areas. Got my doubts so asking here if anyone willing to share some tracks.

I can send a Garmin file of some great tracks around the Mt. Cheaha/Talladega National Forest in North Alabama on numbered forest service roads.
