Thought for SS3 - Despres is 8 mins 50 down overall, his is starting 12th tomorrow, Barreda is leading. As Fishy has said, he rode flat out today so under normal circumstances Cyril would be well placed to get this time back tomorrow, but without errors it looks the pace may just be too intense, or will it?:clap:clap

I suspect the video and stories from today will be very "dakarish"....vechicles stuck all over the place.

I wanna make BYOB. Let's see...

    -------------

I just listened to Cyril Depres on Fox Argentina. Paraphrasing: "it was a difficult stage. Harder than expected. The dunes / sand wasn't that difficult, but navigation was tough. He lost a lot of time on navigation errors."

I think he and Farias were together.

Laia is certainly mixing it up with the men. Notice she is in ahead of HRC rider Pizzolito, British hero Stan Watt (Irish) and Si Pavey. Not to mention only 50 seconds behind British crowd favorite James West. Let's hope the bike stays good (it is a Gas Gas/Yamaha after all) and she keeps her pace and navigation.

Amazing thing for me is that this woman is better known for her ability on the trials bike (multiple world champion).

I think so. That is a team decision. But they won´t do it in my opinion.

    Interesting.

They can do whatever they want in the team, I think the question is one for marketing. They've invested a lot in Despres brand.

He must. He's a professional rider, and that's his job... sad though. Kinda wished he went rogue on this one and gave CD "zee fingerr" with compliments from Gonçalves :D

Saying tha the stage had much sand but very fast.
Was lost at km 40 but then catches Despres and rode to the finish together.
Bike low on fuel after the finish.

Chaleco Lopez said in the interview that the bike was fine, but that starting first isn't worth it (no vale la pena). :D

Apparently, this was a difficult navigation stage.

The sand stages are, because there aren't defined roads to follow and turn onto. Also, there's a lot of room for interpretation, over or around?

Great result for Pyn, steady and safe and fast enough.
