well Steve's plan turned to shit in a big way He's been sitting in A&E for the last 5 hours or so waiting to have some cracked or broken ribs checked out. I'll let him fill you in on all the details but lets just say that there is a bank on the side of Odlins Rd that has an valve cover gouge about 1.5-2mts above track level. We now call it 'the wall of death' in honour of his advanced riding skills
You are fricking kidding me. Synchronicity I wonder if he too was as a baby left on the door of a Hungarian monastery & has a birthmark of a red crescent moon on his left buttock?
apparently he is back home after spending the night in hospital (finally got seen at 1.30am - Wgtn A&E is such a shit place). Xrays showed some blood in the lungs so they kept him in. That will teach him to land backwards on the end of the klr handlebars....
I think you were aiming those gay KLR handlebars for a much more sensitive place, but missed... The write up is over in the Gus thread
A warning to all KLR abusers. KLRs have loooong memories. You have been warned. The wrath of the KLRs has already started.
[ That will teach him to land backwards on the end of the klr handlebars....[/QUOTE] but wasn't he riding the beemer? well i had much more fun at home servicing 2 cars (1 cv boot) the beemer and painting 10m of fence............. get well soon........ everyone!
While the DOC Clarence 4WD web page (a cobweb?) is stuck in 2011, I rang the South Marlborough area office last week and motorised access is proposed to be open again in January/February 2013. January 11-13, 18-20, 25-27 February 1-3, 8-10 Friday 1200-1700, Sat/Sun 0800 1700. At this stage I am planning a long weekend excursion to have another look on the 8-10 weekend. This place is well worth the effort: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/s...lley-4WD-Weekends?p=1130241797#post1130241797 Might try the BMW this time, now I have one that works (one with carburettors). Michael
hmmm, Im seriously looking at doing Bannockburn bike week, which would put me back up that way for Feb 1-3.
Like Eddie I am considering the Bannockburn bike week, would also like to go into the Clarence again, maybe camp overnight in there? Other choice is paint the house. decisions decisions
I'm just waiting for my leave request to be approved at work then I'll be booking my ferry tickets and spot at Bannockburn.
On a slightly different note - Glen and Andy are trail riding tomorrow and as I'm getting over a cold and haven't got a heap of energy I'll take the trials bike up and spend the day playing quietly near the quad center at the paraparaumu end of things. I'll be there from 10 and if I've got the energy may go into the pine forest (overlooking Wainui Farm and McKays Crossing) a bit later. You are welcome to join me if you want to take your trials bike for a low key potter.
Cheers for the offer, I'm off to Ocean Beach tomorrow. Taking a tourist out there for a look on the DR. Went out to Devils Gate today.

hey at least you had a better ride than that other guy on a beemer what was wrong with your bike in the end?
I indeed prefer a broken bike, than a bike broken me. According to dealer (which after 4 days of not finding the problem took kindly my bike ) it was a broken wire on the middle of the wiring loom go figure ... regrettably it seems the battery is now bugged :huh ... which I'm trying to get sorted with the guys of antigravity ... in the meantime bike is resting on the garage collecting dust
