WOW:eek1 I think I may have found my next bike! How hard is it to get tagged? Which states are you fellas taggin these beasts in?
The 99 YZ400F and the 2001 YZ400F have the same exhaust cam, but different intake cams. Does anyone know where I can find cam grind info on these?
2004 WR450 Registered and plated in Alberta Pro-Cycle harness and switch Rear flushmounts Burrego rear rack from my XR 650R, fits perfect FMF Q pipe Factory 10L tank, good for 170 km's light D/S Has been raced, drowned, and flogged every weekend. Has never missed a beat. Even rode for 3 days in Moab without knowing the decomp plug fell out!
Here's my '03 WR250F. It's plated and converted over to YZ-spec and got a bunch of other goodies. Blew it up a couple week ago though...
I can squeeze out 140 km/hr on GPS, but it's screaming with 14/50 gearing. Cruises nicely around 90km/hr. Might drop the rear to a 48 to make things more comfortable. I'm not a fan of the new aluminum frame WR's, too much of pain in the ass to get the carb out and the weight of my 04 with the stock 10L tank is the same as a new 09 with an 8L tank. Ideally, i'd like a minty 06 WR450 with the whizzy digital odometer and my seat and tank. I had a 2000 XR650R with a kit on it, and after D/S'ing my WR, I sold the BRP. The WR is superior for the kinds of riding we do around here. Great all-around bike if set up properly.
2003 with Acerbis tank, ProMotoBillet rack, '04 e-start upgrade, Renazco seat and TrailTech Vapor for instrumentation. Pirelli MT21 on the front and Kenda TrackMaster II on the back.
Does that Acerbis tank fit as well on the 450's as it does on my 250? It it the same tank? I freakin' love that thing. Best fit/finish and shape of any 3.3-3.5 gallon gas tanks I've ever seen. It's one of the only reasons I don't get a newer WR (seriously). The aluminum perimeter framed bikes SUCK when it comes to fitting them with oversized tanks.
Ive changed the 14t counter to a 15 for ds and it makes the world of a diff 70mph seems like an idle, wack her and she'll run to 100mph in a heartbeat.
any D/s tire recommendations? currently running a Dunlop D606 in the rear and a 908E infront. Tempted to go Maxxis 6006 in the front.
3.3L Acerbis fits perfectly on my '08 WR450F. No Problems whatsoever! I get about 120 miles out of full tank.

I'm curious too ....... I use a 12, 13 or 14 up front with a 52 on the back, all with a 114 link chain. Can a 15 even fit up front? I'm on an 03'WR250F btw ......
our riding season is just happening ..... and for this last pic I'll let you guys try and figure out who this fellow inmate is!
