It is funny to call ATV riders "quadtards", but one has time to repent while hoping that some would come along to help you pick up your loaded bike when it takes a dirt nap in a hole, and lies below horizontal. Fortunately, some very nice ATV riders came along and were glad to help.
When removing the starter on an F150, it is important to remove the starter mounting bolts. Do not substitute by removing a transmission bolt. Pay particular attention not to do this while laying in a snowbank on a side street in a rough area of Detroit in the late afternoon.
I have no need for a quad, and even less for a snowmobile, but the guys who have 'em are some of the best-natured, most helpful in the world. ...except the guys who ride on the street!

Never get involved in a land war in Asia. Also, don't give your son your truck keys after he loses his set, and definitely don't give him the spare from the lockbox after he loses your set (I didn't, but this is a reminder to never be tempted).
Next time you spend a really long day in the shop and all you feel like doing for supper is throwing in a frozen pizza and slouch on the couch, make sure that frozen pizza did not come from the food factory with TWO pieces of cardboard under it. It cooked all right!
If that's the same household oven you put in your shop to heat treat, or do small powdercoating projects, or oil-baked finishes, you're a harrier chested man than most!
Note to self: if at first a wooden dowel and hammer doesn't drop the fork, loosen the pinch bolts on the LOWER portion of the triple tree. .

Borrow bother's Electraglide for nice weekend ride. Take friend's wife for ride around town, hit kill switch when entering driveway. Drive 100 miles to find battery next day. Install, still won't start. See above. No facepalm large enough. Ugh.
I never understood why people get in the habit of using the kill switch to shut off their bikes. It bites them sooner or later.

Ok, I looked at a lot, not all, pages in that thread you linked. How is it gonna bite you so hard? I didnt find it. I ain't talkin' about when the bike takes a nap as that could be a different situation.

How so? I've been using the kill switch for oodles and oodles of miles (as long as I can remember) and it's never "bitten" me yet.
No kiddin'. I flip it to Stop to kill the engine, then as soon as it quits spinning flip it back to Run. That's much easier, faster, and safer than reaching up for the key while trying to hold the bike still with the clutch in.
How so? If you can't support your bike with one hand off the bars, you have no place riding a motorcycle in the first place. I kill my bike while coasting to my parking spot, using the key. Never once had a mishap. Imagine that.
